Why, you may well ask is there a Pizza Hut in Banda Aceh? I have asked myself this question many times. Is this cultural imperialism, is this misguided representation of the best from the West? Was this the comfort food place to go to for expats working here after the 2004 Tsunami? Is it kind of cool for locals to be seen here? I have never been able to answer these questions. Yes I have eaten here with visitors who somehow felt safe with food that they recognized. The pizzas took so long to arrive that it was obvious that we had to wait for them to be imported. There was just so much wrong with this place. However, the staff were brilliantly attentive, had mastered the art of calming ravenous customers during the 'long wait' and were exquisitely polite. The method for settling bills in Pizza Hut Banda Aceh is mysterious and curiously convoluted. In the wash up everyone was deleriously satisfied.

Although it is the same generic KFC brand, the food served is different from that in other countries. The 'original fried chicken' is spicy, and the 'spicy fried chicken' is even spicier.Chicken is served with rice instead of whipped potato. The interesting thing is the rice is served and wrapped like a burger, and the locals eat it like a burger (holding it in both hands and taking a bite of the rice)!I might be biased but i think KFC tastes better in malaysia. But an australian friend claims aussie KFC tastes better than malaysian KFC. So, to each his own, i guess.

Tempatnya sederhana, hanya lesehan berdinding bambu dengan meja dan kursi panjang khas warung kopi.Rasa mie pangsit cukup enak, ayam kecap matang sempurna, tidak banyak bercampur tulang. Dari informasi pengunjung yang sudah biasa langganan disini, katanya Setiap hari penuh pelanggan dan waktu itu saya harus antri sampai 15 menit untuk bisa mencicipi semangkuk mie pangsit.
