The Northern Territory (abbreviated as NT) is a federal Australian territory in the central and central northern regions of Australia. It shares borders with Western Australia to the west (129th meridian east), South Australia to the south (26th parallel south), and Queensland to the east (138th meridian east). To the north, the territory is bordered by the Timor Sea, the Arafura Sea and the Gulf of Carpentaria. Despite its large area—over 1,349,129 square kilometres (520,902 sq mi), making it the third largest Australian federal division—it is sparsely populated. The Northern Territory's population of 244,000 (2016) makes it the least populous of Australia's eight major states and territories, having fewer than half as many people as Tasmania.

2021 Dates Released - 9-18 of April. Parrtjima is the only Indigenous festival of its kind, showcasing some of the oldest continuous cultures on earth through the latest technology. During the 10 night program, experience interactive workshops, talks, films and live music across the event precincts bringing together the stories, sounds and rhythms of Central Australia. The event is held in Alice Springs, Mparntwe, an area that always was and always will be part of the Arrernte people.
We've been visiting Parrtjima for the last three of years now and it keeps inspiring us to go back, it's such a beautiful light festival with a strong indigenous culture and focus. Even better, it's all free and there's even free shuttle buses from the town centre. Especially loved the light show projected on the MacDonnell ranges, it was very majestic and touching. Highly recommended!

Ten days of colour and art! Darwin's annual Street Art Festival celebrates 10 days of colour and street art. The festival includes new murals painted by some of the world’s best artists. The amazing murals can be found in the Darwin CBD area bounded by Austin Ln, Bennett St, West Ln and Knuckey St. Stay tuned for 2021 dates!
Was fortunate enough to be in Darwin to catch the amazing street art painted by local and international street artists. Reality was augmented reality by allowed viewers to download an app to their mobiles to bring some of the murals into 3D. My favourite was, without doubt, the clever combination of the perspectives of a building corner and what looked like a electric transformer shed into a kangaroo hopping over a delivery van. Congratulations organisers and congratulations NT Government.
