Top 5 Diner food in Vancouver, Washington, United States

Discover Restaurants offering the best Diner food in Vancouver, Washington, United States. Steeped in history, Vancouver is the oldest city in Washington. Once the largest western outpost of the British Hudson's Bay Company, where supplies and food were bartered in the 1800s, it was closed in 1860 as Americans took over commerce. The outpost was later recreated as the Fort Vancouver National Historic Site. For more history, check out the Pearson Air Field, the oldest operating airfield in the West, where vintage aircraft are displayed at the Pearson Air Museum. If adventure is your bag, Vancouver is the perfect base for day trips to the Columbia River Gorge, the breathtakingly beautiful 70-mile river stretch that cuts through the Cascade Mountains, or Mount St. Helens, the site of the famous volcano, both of which offer a slew of outdoor activities. For calmer pastimes, cruise the picturesque river in the Columbia Gorge riverboat, or visit Beacon Rock, the world's second largest monolith, where a walking trail leads to spectacular panoramic views.

We enjoyed a great meal w/ quick service. It’s a huge menu with lots of choices, we went for the Cadillac meatloaf & a fried chicken dinner w/ onion rings as appetizers - recommended! Too full to attempt any dessert, we took away 1/2 of our dinners as leftovers. Guess we’ll just have to come back...

Went to restaurant with 6 adults, 6 children. Service was fast and friendly. This place is always busy and with a large party was still only a 15 minute wait. Food excellent and good selection (omelets, crepes, pancakes, German pancakes) all tasty and fast. Coffee cup never hits empty due to service. Also have a ballon animal maker who visits tables- kids love it. Reasonable priced. Hit this place almost anytime we are in town.Morning Aaron,We truly thank you for your feedback and are glad to see you've enjoyed your visits to Elmer’s. We love hearing from our Guests and we send each review directly to the restaurant management to be seen. This restaurant is noted for it's LARGE portions. Along with that comes the large bill. My guest had 1/2 of a bacon, cheese omelette and it was double the size of any other restaurant's regular size. I had hash browns with ham and cheese 1/2 order. Both of us had take-out containers before it was over. One coffee, one orange juice and a bill of over $40+. The place is always packed with a line out the door and not just on weekends. Only open for breakfast and lunch. NOISY place tho. Booth next to us kept yelling because he would see old friends. Along with the rest of the chatter and noise, it got a bit annoying.

I absolutely loved this place! Such good, hearty food and at terrific prices. The service was amazing. We were a large group of eight. We ordered and received our food in no time. Our wait staff was very friendly, spent time talking to us, and even snapped a few pics for us.I ordered the Country Skillet at the suggestion of our wait staff. This was HUGE! Very tasty potatoes topped with a country fried steak, covered in peppery cream gravy, and then crowned with two sunny side up eggs. My-oh-my! This was excellent, but so much food that I honestly could not eat the rest of the day. It came with 4 slices of toast which I could not touch at all. Throw in a bottomless cup of coffee and I was a happy morning customer.Bring your appetite and ask for a to-go container when you love it, but just can’t finish it in one sitting.

We asked front hotel desk where we could find more of a local cafe and they mentioned this place. I had pancakes, my husband had the crabvacado omelette. Service was a little slow and waitress wasn't the most pleasant we have had but food was good so would give it a try if you are in the area. Maybe she was just having a bad day.
