I had to visit to check out its number one trip advisor rating. The place was heaving with happy diners. The menu was great and looking at some of other customers dishes very good portions. We had home made Clam Chowder, very good with garlic focaccia. This is an old fashioned diner. Milk shakes seemed very popular.Yes it did live up to its reputation.

We joined relatives for a wonderful breakfast here during our stay in Campbell River. Savvy Locals appreciate the friendly/personalized service, freshly prepared and budget-friendly prices and we can fully understand why. My veggie omelet with chunky hash browns & sour dough toast was very satisfying and my coffee cup remained magically filled throughout the meal. The owners were celebrating their 8 year anniversary during our visit and we were treated to a piece of celebration cake with our breakfast meals. Well done Janet. Enjoy

Great small seasonal restaurant - family owned and operated - locatged on the Spit, along the waterfront.
Went here based on the Trip Advisor reviews and wanting to try another fish n' chip place in Campbell River. We ordered the 2 piece cod fish n' chips and a bowl of clam chowder. This fish batter was very bready and quickly became soggy when the lemon was squeezed on it. The taste of the fish was good, but the batter reminded me of the breaded shrimp at Chinese takeout. The clam chowder tasted fine, but the clams were definitely either frozen or canned, as they were not fresh local clams. Local clams would have been two to three times the size of the tiny clams in the chowder. We may return to try the pies, but he fish n' chips need to have less batter and more crisp texture.

We stopped in on a busy Saturday evening for fish and chips and were not disappointed. Service was slow and the waitress seemed a bit frazzled, but the halibut fish and chips were hot, well cooked and not too heavily battered. The menu was quite extensive with a wide variety of options, many of which looked worthy of checking out.

The small diner was full but we waited because we immediately liked the ambience. The carrot lentil soup was excellent and so was the choc chip peanut butter cookie. The coffee is from Quadra Island and it was good. I didnât mind whatsoever that service was a little slow. It is a family run place and Nana came out to lend a hand from doing the prep. I look forward to going here often!
