Lovely, busy little restaurant on the main street of Chateauneuf. Decent menu, nice wine choices and the owner or manager speaks flawless English which was appreciated.

Such a cute spot. Close to the theatre but away from the crowded central restaurants on an opera night. Menu concise with daily specials. Provençal cuisine at it's freshest. Family run and frequented by locals more than tourists. Busy outside terrace. Service was friendly and considerate of time constraints for theatre attendance. Fine little bistro to visit anytime.

Five minutes from Avignon city center and the motorway A7 (exit n°23), a charming provençal home set in magnificent and peaceful garden. Internationally renowned gastronomic restaurant (chef Philippe Boucher, ex. Bocuse, Georges Blanc). Provençal restaura
We reserved here based on TripAdvisor reviews and were not disappointed with either the menu or the service. Both were flawless. A nice touch: one of the owners visited every table, confirming the diners' satisfaction in both English and French. However, choose another restaurant if you aren't prepared to spend 100 Euros pp for dinner with wine. The cheese cart is magnificent with 30 or more choices. We watched a diner at an adjacent table choose 6 (we had read that 3 were the rule) to the apparent chagrin of the server. Then to our amusement, her companion declined the cheese course.

Away from the tourist traps, this vegetarian-friendly restaurant is situated in a pedestrian zone and offers friendly service and excellent quality. The menu is straightforward with creative touches, and the house wine is fantastic. Watch the chefs prepare the food from your patio seat: they do it with joy and skill. Highly recommended for lunch or dinner!

If you are in Avignon at lunch time and want to try something different and tasty, head to the train station. An easy, delicious and off-beat place is Gaston le Camion Food Truck. It is located right in front of the main train station in the « centre » of Avignon, not at the TGV station, so it is easy to findâand no traipsing through the winding medieval streets to figure out where it might be. Many signs point to the âGare Centre,â just off the Boulevard St. Roch, part of the circular avenue surrounding the city.Jane and Linda, two entrepreneurial and creative young avignonnaises (women from Avignon) decided to share their passion for cooking and entertaining. The food is local, very fresh and mostly organic; the women are lots of fun, but serious about quality and taste. Prices are very reasonable. At lunch they serve burgers, bagel sandwiches, salads, savory tartes, a Plat du jour and desserts. Just recently I was at a catered dinner and I tried a Nordic Bagel; a fabulous creamy chicken risotto; a St. Marcellin, honey and thyme goat cheese tarte; strawberry and chocolate desserts. They are at the station on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 11 -14.
