The full day was great in whole. The caves are beautiful-definitely a sight you should see. There were a lot of students on trips but it's fine because you get put into a group with your own language guide. Horses are breathtaking and the history is interesting I wish we went on a day where the horses were "working" meaning you could ride them. We went on a Monday so that is the resting day for the Lipica horses-they train and trot all other days. Despite that, we had a lovely tour of the farm and interacted with the horses in their stables and learned about these unique majestic creatures. Pick up and drop off was right on time - car was comfortable and our guide found a good place for us to have lunch before taking us back into Trieste

3. Aquileia guided tour / Aquileia walking tour

Piazza Capitolo, 3, 33051 Aquileia UD, Italy Explore Friuli

Come and discover an ancient city that was called the second Rome! It's hard to imagine, but once upon a time, during the heyday of the Roman Empire, this small village near the Adriatic coast was a bustling trading city which was the fourth largest city in Italy due to its grandeur and splendor! Aquileia is an exceptional archaeological site that is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site. We will visit the excavations and ancient remains of the Roman Forum, the necropolis and the imposing structures of the old river port. Do not miss the magnificent early Christian Basilica which houses the largest mosaic floor in the Western Christian world, an important stage in the history of European art. The last gem is the Domus Romana by Tito Macro. The largest reconstruction of a real Domus in Italy with original mosaic floors. In no other city - with the exception of Rome - is early Christianity as present as here. I'll take you to make it known!

Inclusions: The guided walking tour with a certified guide

Exclusions: The entrance to the Basilica with the crypt and the entrance to the Domus Romana is not included in the price.
