My husband and I arrived at Meson Sacristia to be greeted by Chefs Ruth and Diana. After being introduced and handed a bottle of water we were off to the market to purchase ingredients. Accompanying Ruth and Diana in the market was an education not to be missed! Their exceptional knowledge was evident as we strolled though the market picking up this, tasting that. Back at the cooking school we chopped, boiled, fried and talked. We talked about food, about Puebla, about family and plans. This was not just a class on cooking, but a total immersion in Puebla. Ruth's professional manner in instructing was easy to follow and my husband and I enjoyed a feeling of being part of Chef Ruth's kitchen team. The result was a gastronomic display worthy of a Michelin rating. We enjoyed sharing the bounty with Ruth and Diana, continuing our conversations, as we relaxed in the beauty of the restaurant's courtyard.
