Walker friendly cafe in the centre of Keswick. Delightful, easy going atmosphere. Pleasant and efficient service. Interesting menu of filling snacks, specials and more. All freshly cooked. Good choice of salads. Many vegetarian options. I had a burger - home made and quite superior with potato/piccalilli and mixed salad. Not expensive.

Well we did a preliminary visit here because the place we were staying hold a members dinner on a Monday evening. Although the setting was lovely, we felt the prices slightly exceeded the value and thought that our choices for the dinner (pasta, pie or bangers and mash) were somewhat unimaginative. Nevertheless, this is a good venue that we would revisit.

A 4 star hotel restaurant with panoramic views looking down the Borrowdale Valley and an AA Rosette for Culinary Excellence. This is a tranquil spot to relax and enjoy locally-sourced Lakeland cuisine, with a contemporary twist. The restaurant is open bot
We've had Sunday lunch at the Borrowdale Gates every time we visit the UK and we hope we continue to do so in the future! The only thing that surprised us was the fact that there were so few customers as in previous years it has always been quite busy.£27.50 for three courses plus coffee is particularly good value as each course is a delight. A sample menu is available on the Borrowdale Gates website. There's a good variety of starters which are imaginatively presented and will set you up nicely for the main course. These include a traditional Sunday roast and always a particularly good fish dish. You certainly won't go hungry as the portions are generous without being overfacing and there's a good and plentiful selection of vegetables. As for the sweets...probably the most difficult decision of the day will be choosing one of them as they are all of the "must eat me" variety!Pre lunch drinks and coffee are taken in the hotel lounge with views out over the stunning countryside. The staff are very welcoming, attentive and helpful without being over formal. We have never been disappointed with a meal at the Borrowdale Gates and look forward to returning next year.

This restaurant is in a quiet location. It is located near Derwentwater lake, a few miles from Keswick, in an excellent small hotel. The food is locally sourced, for instance the lamb comes from the next door farm. Some ingredients are foraged. The menu is well thought out and well balanced. There is a good wine list. The service is excellent. The views from the restaurant windows is spectacular.
Where to eat Spanish food in Keswick: The Best Restaurants and Bars
Having visited GoldenBlend on two occasions now I can confidently say I can go into the restaurant in the knowledge that I'll receive good quality, extremely reasonably priced food. The range of dishes we've sampled include the spaghetti bolognese, chicken salad, plough mans platter board and the "chips egg and beans". From the portion sizes to taste you can't help but be satisfied. The friendly and welcoming staff make the visit all the more inviting and ensure that we will be visiting again in the very near future. The prefect addition to the ever growing range of restaurants in Keswick. Good work keep it up!
