Reviews on Contemporary food in Candolim, Bardez, Goa. Candolim is just north of the Mandovi river and is home to Goa's most popular and well known resort and holiday village. As such, it's not a typical backpackers destination. The Candolim beach itself does not have much to offer when compared to its livelier neighbor, Calangute. However, if sunbathing and take the occasional dip is your thing then Candolim will offer you the perfect experience. One of the more interesting sights from Candolim beach is the bulk carrier ""River Princess"" which ran aground 100 metres offshore. While at the Candolim beach do not miss out the Aguada Fort. The fort was built by the Portuguese way back in 1912 for defense against the Dutch and the Maratha invaders. Candolim is aslo a very popular evening destination as it has a number of very good resteraunts and night clubs.

As we was staying in the sunset beach hotel we decided to book in here for our evening meal. We arrived on time and was seated but the restaurant was empty. 20 mins later not one waiter had been near our table to either offer us a drink or even a menu. My family and I made a decision there and then to leave as we couldnât even see a member of the waiting staff. This was a major disappointment as my mum has difficulty walking and this would have been an ideal place for her to eat. I do understand the laid back attitude of goa, but I think this was disgusting.

Intimate fine dining restaurant with a seperate bar lounge on the upper floor. Classic N'Orleans cuisine served with fun and passion. Chef Sohan, the owner and chef, had a restaurant with the same name and serving the same food in Tokyo, Japan for 18years
If in Goa do go and see Chef Sohan and Paul. Every dish is prepared and created just a few feet from your table. Best to WhatsApp and book as we did as if you just rock up as you may be disappointed as only a few tables. The menu boasts Cajun and Creole creations from his repertoire such as Cajun Prawns, Blackened Fish and Lose the Blues Chicken followed by Banana Fosters (warmed banana with a bourbon whisky caramel sauce and ice cream or chocolate mousse as my good lady wife had. Booked again as I must try the jambalaya too! If you appreciate very good food you will love this.

Born of our passionate union circa 2000, A Reverie is an expression of our love affair with food and the techniques around it.
Out of the Box dishes and well platted. The restaurant serves Goan Poi Pizza a very tasty twist. The Thai or Italian were all served and tasted different. The flavours were well balanced and we all enjoyed the meal. The dessert Bonafie Pie and Chocolate platter were also different and tasty. A good place to visit. Went there after seeing the amazing rating it had on TripAdvisor and it was an awesome decision! My favorite meal from my trip to Goa! Went there without a reservation (definitely advise making a prior reservation) - the place was packed so we were first given a table next to the kitchen door. However, we were very soon shifted to a much better location. The food was amazing! I'm usually not a fan of Gnocchi however on the waiters recommendation I had it and it was outstanding! A must try! Great service too!
