We visited by chance and were pleased to get a table. The food was excellent, I was pleased there was a vegetarian option with no cheese (very rare here), and it was delicious. The house white we had was excellent, and dessert was divine. My boyfriend had the three meats and said it was delicious. Service was also excellentThank you

L'Empreinte Restaurant

We understand from the host that her and her partner only recently took over the restaurant in the last few months after working in the resort over the last year. Her partner is Italian and the chef and hence the French /Italian style of food.Menu and wine list limited at the moment and nearly put us off from coming in. However we were glad we went in as each dish was well prepared and a little different from other options in the resort. We both thought the quality and taste was better than one of the more established restaurants we had eaten at the night before and no more expensive I had a starter that included thinly sliced tomatoes of three colours and an Italian cheese. My wife had the salmon trout and loved it. I had the guinea fowl on a bed of sliced courgettes which was also good. All freshly prepared. Homemade sweets also good.We wish this new restaurant and young couple every success in this new venture. Well worth a visit. A limited menu but good food prepared well. Keep up the good work!

All the dishes served are home cooked by Pascal Glory and his team who use the very best ingredients from local producers: high altitude lobster fresh from the sea, Caesar style tartar, calf sweetbread (ris de veau) ‘with baby onions’. The menu is often r

Le Shakisky

It all started well, as it did the previous year, but it turned to be a disaster and a VERY bad experience, following a diner that we had at the Hotel Restaurant, Le Shakisky. By time to time the Restaurant prepares a Buffet, this time it was based on fish and sea-food, it included oysters and shrimps. We sat at our table a couple of hours, had a pleasant evening, but I was a bit surprised to see that the food was in display for several hours with no refrigeration. I remember that it did cross my mind that it may not be very safe for customers coming in late, it was also very warm in the restaurant, that was full. The next day we ate at the Hotel once again, as part of the menu, the starter was a fish soup but it was served cold. We complained but we emptied our plate. The night that followed we got sick both of us, and it got much worst at day time. I immediately suspected that we had been subject to food poisoning (stomach pain, diary, vomit). My partner stayed in bed all day but I decided to go down to the restaurant in the evening, partly because I was curious to see if some of the other guests would be missing or not. I noticed that some tables (regular customers) were empty that evening. The next days I asked questions to a number of people to check if we were alone with that same bad experience; unfortunately, I cannot share with you the information received (Trip Advisor’s Guide Lines). I needed to be certain of my assessment (conclusions drawn) before reaching out to the owners, as I felt it was very important not to make any accusations, unless confirmed. As I did approach the owner’s wife, it was never my intention to ask for any compensation (we might have been entitled to given the fact that we lost three days of skiing, ski-passes were pre-paid) but I felt that it was important for them to be informed. Food poisoning can be a very serious thing, especially for older people. I also wanted to check their reaction. So, I approached her using diplomacy and a soft tone in my voice. How did she react? She lost her temper at once, raised up her voice, she was almost shouting at me. And she immediately rejected all responsibility, strongly denied that any contamination could originate from their restaurant. I asked her to cool down, told her that these things can happen, it is impossible to be behind everyone 24 hours a day; a staff member not cleaning hands properly, shrimps or fish not kept at the right temperature”. But then I asked if we could we book a table for tonight? She looked at me and said: “Certainly not, you not welcome to eat in our restaurant anymore”.So, not only we got sick during our vacation and missed 3 days of skiing, the owners were unwilling to apologise or take any responsibility, but we also got treated like thieves, and were prohibited to spend another minute in the restaurant.”A few hours later I went to the reception desk, to speak with the owner (his wife was on his side). He tried to defend his wife’s reaction and told me then: “You need to understand that we run into these problems each year, with customers pretending that they got contaminated in our restaurant. The worst time of the year for us is at Christmas and New Year’s Eve, when we have a large buffet”. Here is a good advice to travellers who may have a similar experience with a Hotel or Restaurant in France: Make contact with the DDPP or the DDCSPP, which is what we should have done.
