Reviews on Contemporary food in Accra, Greater Accra, Ghana. Stretched along the Atlantic Ocean, Ghana's most populous city boasts glittering beaches, monumental buildings, museums, libraries, galleries, traditional markets and lively nightlife. Accra's architecture reflects its colonial history, with 17th century castles standing alongside modern skyscrapers. A veritable melting pot of cultures, the city's central financial and shopping districts contrast sharply with the less affluent residential areas surrounding the urban core.

La Brasserie by Wood is located on the grounds of Alliance Francaise Accra and is a relaxed and intimate restaurant featuring French and Italian favorites fused with local Ghanaian spices and ingredients. Fusion comfort food!
I just spent a lovely Tuesday afternoon at La Brasserie with my favourite neice. Our taste buds were pleasantly surprised by the savoury yet sweet flavours of the mixed grill platter. I would totally recommend this place to anyone looking for a calm environment to enjoy breakfast, brunch, lunch and even dinner. Definitely a ten out of ten.

I don't tend to fawn over places where the appearance/location appear to be dictating the prices, but when I visited on Friday after work with colleagues I was pleasantly surprised. We started with a bottle of wine and before we knew it ended up staying for dinner as well. The wine was great and cost was only a little more than what I would usually pay for a mid-range bottle back home (the UK). I ordered the grouper and it was better than expected. It didn't blow my mind but it was cooked well and presented really nicely - clearly with a suggestion of finer dining. Considering the price tag, I would expect the service to be more welcoming. We had a reservation but it seemed like a major faux pas to arrive without one and the service only became a fraction friendlier once we'd sat down in the undercover, restaurant area. You can eat food that is as good, if not better, in more relaxed settings and for much less money, elsewhere in Accra but you'd be hard-pressed to find such a great view.

set up as a funkier cafe on the corner of a busy road, you seat and eat right by the open drains so there a pleasant smell over the whole place. Very western set up so Brunies can feel at home. Expensive to a lot of places but service good and attentive. Ok food, nothing special. good for a quick bite of food, not a place to dress up and visit.

The Latte was excellent as was the Bacon Bap. The place feels light and airy, and is neat and clean. Service was good.I also eyed up the Full English Breakfast on the menu, but time prevented me from trying it this time around. This will be a regular stop for me, from now on.
