This quiz is a challenge for your mind while also being a fantastic social event. I’ve visited Playa several times, now staying here a bit longer, and I’ve met some great friends by attending this quiz. Laura is a delightful host, with excellent questions and the venue offers a great service during the night. My favourite round is the music round, but really I no longer go to win, rather to hang out with my friends!

No doubt, this was a very expensive night out, but it's something we planned as a memory-maker and we were certainly not disappointed. We splurged on the VIP package for 4, my wife and I and our 2 daughters aged 19 and 12. The whole experience was totally magical - from pulling up to the valet parking at the entrance to picking the car up again at the end, we felt like we were in a different world. We were treated like royalty. There is a short pre-dinner cocktail demonstration followed by a dinner show - extremely talented musicians and singers - and the food was spectacular - a real treat for the senses. Our waiters (Yair and Daniel) were extremely efficient and polite, and highly energetic! Our girls (even the 19 yr old!) were totally mesmerised by the costumes, the atmosphere, the food, the ambience - all of it served to put us in the mood for the show itself. The food is incredible, with a distinct nod towards Mexican cuisine but probably the most original menu I've ever eaten (and we have sampled a lot of food over the years!). And the show was amaze-balls! Of course, being Cirque du Soleil, we were expecting it to be top notch and it certainly was, as well as being quite light-hearted and fun. I don't think we had a favourite act as it was all so excellent! My only 2 very minor negative points were 1) the dinner is an hour long, which whizzed by super-fast. We are the type of family that takes our time to eat, so it did feel a little rushed, since we spent a lot of time ooh-ing and aah-ing over the incredible presentation! 2) the show itself is quite short, as Cirque du Soleil shows go - again, so amazing that it whipped by in what seemed like no time at all. But all in all, this was by far our favourite thing we did on vacation and a very special treat for us. I would highly recommend it. Turn up a little early and have a drink in the Nektar bar ahead of the show - great cocktails, including the best espresso martini I've ever had!

Just an amazing show, we go to this show every single time we stay in Hotel Xcaret, two to three times a year. We really like the hotel an everything about their parks.
