Just moved from south Riverview to Brandon. Saw the flyer by my door. And I needed easy delivery while unpacking a million boxes. I figured, since it is on MLK, it should have SOME cred. Wrong. I ordered shrimp and lobster sauce, shrimp fried rice, some egg rolls, fried shrimp and crab rangoon. I was tired and hungry, eager to eat. The food arrived. I was so excited. The shrimp and "lobster sauce" came in a styrofoam to-go plate, not a plastic container. It leaked everywhere. When I opened it, I was like WTF? Lobster sauce is supposed to be brown and have pork in it. What the heck is this crap? I promise I didn't order egg drop soup w shrimp! Secondly, how the hell are you going to put CABBAGE in fried rice, much less peas and carrots? "Where they do that at?" Nowhere worth being. Thirdly, their "fried shrimp" is some freezer-tasting breaded crap from Costco. No tempura here. The egg rolls are miniscule and more like spring rolls. If you are from the northeast, avoid this garbage like the plague.

When we want Chinese food and don't feel like moving LoL, We call China Wok. Garlic Chicken rocks! their Egg Drop Soup is good, The Wontons are yummy as are the chicken wontons ( you get those free for orders over $30 ) vegetables are fresh and they will leave out stuff you don't like if you ask them. Delivery is usually right on time and the food is always HOT. No complaints :)

My husband found this place online and he said it had good reviews. He isn't allowed to pick restaurants anymore. The Kung Pao chicken was definitely NOT chicken. I think it was purring in the back of the restaurant a few minutes before it was served. It had a chewy texture with gristle. The dish also had an abundance of celery. The Garlic Chicken I ordered had long, stringy pieces of chicken in it. Could it have been tripe? My son's steamed rice was good. We left throwing most of our meal away. When we got to the car, I told me husband that we must never speak of what we ate that night ever again.

As of a few months ago this place is awful. The wonton soup, lo mein and egg rolls are all unappetizing. They used to be yummy. I can only guess that they changed owners.

Hot Wok is the best Chinese food bar none in Brandon/Valrico area. Everything is made to order, no buffet here. Eggdrop and hot n sour soups are excellent. All entrees are well portioned always fresh good quality vegetables meats n seafood. Hunan anything is great with brown spicy sauce. Try their singapore mei fun, thin spicy rice noodles curry flavor with chix, pork, beef, shrimp, comparable to any Newyork rest. They r always pleasant and quick, hav NEVER had any dish dissapoint. Have tried many things on menu loved em all. This place is a hidden gem in valrico next to Publix. Try it, you wont go anywhere else.
