We were craving Chinese food and North China had great reviews. The restaurant was very busy, but we didn't have to wait for a table. It's a typical Chinese restaurant with lots of red in their decor, modest furniture and Teresa Teng as background music. The servers were fast, the food portions were huge and quality wise it was OK.

My wife and I went there for dinner. We were the only people in the restaurant at first. We were worried. We ordered the "B" dinner but substituted for sweet and sour chicken and Kung pao chicken. We got the sizzling rice soup, egg roll, and fried shrimp. We could have stopped there and taken the dinner home. There was too much to eat(without making pigs of ourselves). Food was very good. Service was polite but a little slow but then we weren't in any hurry for a change. Prices are fair. We'll go back.

This was once THE Chinese food place to go but it sure has changed and changed for the worse.The food is excellent and the prices are fair. But the service is awful!Just two or three guys run the front end and all they do when you talk to them is grunt. Say thanks or yes, that's fine, and all you get in return is, "uh." But the food is very good.What will keep me from going back there is the location. It's a awful shopping center straight from TJ and it's filth and grime and illegal Mexicans everywhere. It does not seem safe in the shopping center so I won't go back to Pearl East.The food is very good but the poor service and terribly dangerous and dirty location and parking lot kills the deal for me and my wife.

This place is perfect for santa maria. The portions are good the price is good and the food is tasty. It reminds me of little shops in L.A. They were very busy when i visited so plan ahead.
