It's a good place. Good choice of food...I guess huge but what we ate was very good and it's not pricy at all.People are friendly. Nothing to complain about it. Chinese so, yes greasy as you would expect. There's some thai food as well which we didn't try so can't tell.

A truly wonderful Birthday meal with friends in the Upper salon. Food incredible, so fresh and beautifully presented . The Staff were excellent bot in their professional manner and friendliness. I would just like to mention that it might be a good idea to have the menu in German and possibly English. There is such a variety of food and if one is not speaking Italian it could be confusing.

chinese, Japanese food
As North Americans, we are accustomed to Chinese food being relatively inexpensive. This is not the case in Ticino (Switzerland), and we can never get used to the prices. Ponte Rosso is a quick trip over the border into Italy from Switzerland, and the food is better than we've found in Lugano. We order the Hot and Sour Soup (Zuppa Agropiccante) and Fried Dumplings (Ravioli Brasati) every time, and then experiment with everything else. We've actually found their sushi to be better than the Chinese food.In the six years we've lived here, we've gone to this restaurant at least twenty times. They're great for large groups and also for families with kids.

We went there three times, and never have been disappointed. But you need to book especially on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evening. We took japanese ravioli, chinese ravioli, small sushi plate (12x), mixed tempura (3 shrimps and some vegetables), 8x rolls, fried melanzane stuffed with meat, a bottle of chardonnay, 2 espressos: 70 Euros totally, which is fair since the quality of food was good. The staff is really friendly and available for explanations on food, and at the end a small glass of limoncello or liquor is offered. The big advantage compared to othe Japanese in Lavena Ponte Tresa is that it is centrally located, 100m from the Swiss border.Try it, you will not be disappointed.
