Although we adore the Mátra, it was pretty tough to find a quality restaurant around - until now. Paloc Bistorant has a great variety of unique meals, our choice was a wonderful trout plate. Very central, delicious food and nice, friendly atmosphere. We'll surely come back with our family!

We visited this restaurant with friends to have lunch on a nice Saturday.The meals looked good and they were really delicious. The portions were larger compared to similar quality restaurants in Budapest.The waiters were not really professional, they were very slow and forgot about multiple orders. I hope that they will improve while collecting experience.The prices are affordable and they offer a good value for the money.

Good after skiing in winter, or after hiking in summer.Location: Near Mátra Hotel, it has a large indoors part and also an outdoor garden where you can eat.Food: Traditional Hungarian dishes. I recommend the game-based dishes, you can't go wrong with them. Also, the crepes are quite good as dessert. If you are vegetarian or have food allergies, you will have a more difficult time, maybe a few dishes or none to choose from. Staff: A bit slow, usually because the place can get quite packed. They are mostly nice though.Bonus: There is a resident cat in the garden sometimes. The kids and the locals love it.
