You can enjoy culinary delights - inspired by the Swiss, but also international cuisine - in our cozy restaurant Bernerhof. Our restaurant is usually open as follows: Monday, Wednesday & Thursday: from 3 PM Friday to Sunday: from 8 AM
Tonight's dinner experience was amazing! The moment I stepped into the restaurant, I was warmly greeted the hostess and made to feel very welcome. I had soup, a main course, and dessert... all was made to perfection and reasonably priced for such a wonderful meal! I almost want to stay in Kandersteg another day so I can eat here again!

We had done a great scenic walk through the snowy woods to the lake, then walked on the frozen lake. We had a walk on the lake to see the people fishing through holes they had drilled in the ice.We then walked back up to the restaurant, had a tasty hot chocolate, however there are no real low cost snack lunches on the menu other than soup, the rest of the menu is made up of quite expensive snack foods ie. sausage and chips, beautifully cooked but circa £16.00.All the food looked very cleanly cooked and a good serving, but sadly not economy eating, they do have a captive audience because of the location.

We really enjoyed our meal at the Doldenhorn. Good service; very nice wine selection; delicious, melt-in-your mouth steak and an amazing selection of desserts on the dessert trolley!! This restaurant has several different style rooms. We sat in the winter garden, which was perfect for a warm summer evening.

We were recommended to this restaurant by our own hotel. Situated near the Gondola Lift to the lake. very good atmosphere, friendly service, excellent food prepared by the wife of the owner and served by lovely staff. Well worth a visit and we would definitely use again if we were in the town. A good recommendation.

We ate dinner and breakfast here while staying overnight. As hikers passing through on the Via Alpina, this was an excellent place to enjoy good meals before tackling the Hohtürli pass the next day. Although during the day you can dine outside, our meals were served inside (in a very pleasant, bright and traditional room with mounted heads of ibex and chamois on the wall) because it was too cool to be outside (we ate dinner around 7 pm, and had breakfast at 7 am). Our dinner was excellent: a joint of meat, a mixed salad, bread, vegetables, dessert. We were offered seconds on several items. Breakfast was the usual Swiss buffet, with unusually good gipfele (croissants). From the windows, we looked out on the lake and the mountains. In the evening and early morning, the area is extremely quiet (the day trippers have left for the day).
