It' s a small and typicall Austrian restaurant with a very cozy decoration. Top on the hill and road goes between trees and country houses. We used shuttle from Kempinski hotel das Tirol, took 5 minutes. You need reservation before because of the capacity and very recommended. No welcome downstairs go direct to upstairs.Menu is a bit small mostly dumplings and pasta stuffed cheese&spinach&bacon. Try s ' Bärenbichler Hauspfandl with any kind of meat. There' s a private room for the kids and it' s an animal friendly restaurant.Everything is freshly prepared so you can wait for a while but no complaints with the service.I recommend;Fried Achentalalm cheese with saladBauernsalat with roasted potato & baconBärenbichler Hauspfandl ChickenFried blueberry & rasperry waffleAverage;Veal Shcnitzel with cranberryGoulash of beef

This doesn't set out it's stall as a fine dining establishment so it didn't over promise. Schnitzel was fine but calves liver was dubious unless the Austrians have found a way to take a wonderful ingredient and turn it into your regular liver and onions.

We've been here twice for lunch escaping from modernistic reading of food and dining by Kempinsky. Both times everybody - 8 people - loved this place. I recommend smoked river trout, deer ragu as wild game, pike perch and wienner schnitzel of course. Good choice in the wine list. Great views on cliffs. P.S. Homebrewed pear schnaps here is a must.

What to do and see in Jochberg, Austria: The Best Places and Tips
My husband and I came upon this restaurant by chance after a morning's walk from Kitzbuehel. It is beautifully decorated and extremely comfortable. The food was very freshly prepared and the majority of the ingredients were local. It has a beautiful butchers and delicatessen attached. The service was friendly,if a little measured due to the fact there was only one waitress working. Highly recommended.
