Seoul is the business and cultural hub of South Korea, where skyscrapers tower over Buddhist temples. Take it all in from the N Seoul Tower, built atop a peak in Namsan Park. The teahouses and shops of Insadong give you a taste of Korean flavor, which you can further experience with a visit to the grounds and museums of Gyeongbokgung. UNESCO World Heritage Site Changdeokgung Palace is a fine example of authentic ancient architecture.

This is one of top two places to remember people who sacrified during Korean War. Must-visit place for locals. It's also decent place to rest. Very popular during spring and fall. - It is said this is really crowded during Memorial Day (June 6). Better to avoid if you're a tourist. - From late March to early April, it feels more like a public park with flowers like cherry blossoms. Good to take a walk along hillside, too. - Accessible from Dongjak and Old Banpo Stations.

We visited in the winter. It was a very peaceful walk away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Lovely.
