We visited Uncles Country Coffee based on reviews and the fact that we could walk to it from our bed and breakfast. I loved the menu, and the fact that putting together a panorama of my favourite breakfast whims did not result in a huge bill. They also had a wide selection of doughnuts. Orders are taken at the counter and a little numbered flag tells the waitress where to bring the food to you. Wish I lived closer.

The Country Fork occupies space which may have formerly been a school, town hall or something similar... it's large and has very high ceilings, and has lots of seating, largely booths. The decor is totally "country", with mason jars for beverages, menus on brown paper, and so forth. Many of the patrons were local people. We went for breakfast and had a good meal. The bill came to about 25% more than our previous day's breakfast at "Uncles Cafe", down the street.

Staying at an Air B&B for a long weekend in January is fun. However, at Long Point, while lots of scenery, and great places to walk, there aren't many restaurants open in the area. We dined three times at the Boathouse, in Port Rowan, and while the menu was typical for an off-season, pub-style place, it was quite good. Meals were fresh, and this vegan was accommodated nicely.A small place, very attentive staff and a nice selection of beers on tap!
