Things to do in Paradise

We stayed 3 nights in June on a trip around Lake Michigan, and traveled with friends of ours and our 5 kids. We have a 28ft travel trailer. Our electric site was very nice, good size, moderately wooded, but we could still walk through to our neighbors. The bathrooms were new and very clean. Dump station was also convenient. We stayed next to the campground host, a very friendly couple. Campground is right on the river. We loved watching the river and kept waiting for a moose to pop out (though we never got to see one!). Tried fishing, but no luck! Quiet campground. Could use a nicer playground for the kids, but we were very very happy with it and its setting!! Close to both the upper and lower falls by car (both were amazing!) We had a fantastic visit. If heading into the town of Paradise we would recommend the Brown Fisheries fish house for fresh caught lake superior whitefish and whitefish chowder. It made our rainy day very memorable.

The cabin is right on Lake Superior. It has a door wall and two windows that give you a wonderful view of the lake. The kitchen was stocked with everything that you would need, but the food. The only negative thing I would say is that the cabin is close to the main road and there is road noise. But we still enjoyed sitting outside by the water and by the bomb fire. I did get cell service. We didn't watch TV because we spent all our time outside. But the only TV you can watch is DVDs. There wasn't a big selection, so I would bring your own.

We stayed here for a short family getaway in April. The cabins were very clean. The beds in both bedrooms were comfortable with clean linens. The kitchen was moderately well-stocked. It was still pretty cold outside but the furnace in the cabin worked great. The best part of Saunder's is the unbeatable view of Whitefish Bay/ Lake Superior. It was a short drive to the small town of Paradise and about 11 miles to Whitefish Point and Tahquemenon Falls. You definitely need a car to get around as there is nothing within walking distance. We would love to stay here again on our next visit.

We rented cabin #2 last weekend. The cabin was clean and the owners very pleasant. However, when we got there, the windows were open, at least three deodorizers were in rooms and an additional unit plugged in to get rid of odors. We left the next day to explore. When we returned to the cabin that afternoon, there was a very strong, musty smell...almost to the point of smelling like sewage. Opening the windows made the smell clear up quite a bit but we will not be back. ?

We stayed at cabin 1 and loved it! Outside deck overlooks Lake Superior. There wasn't a a speck of dust or dirt any where. Furnished with a coffee maker and kitchen appliances and utensils which we didn't use. Fire pit and wood available for a fire. Great place to stay.
