Very disappointed, and doubt we will ever return. Nothing compared to the old Kellyâs that was at that location. Inside all open like a cheap cafe. Food was very overpriced, with nothing special to offer. Bowl of seafood gumbo had a total of two shrimp in it, with nothing else. Not even served with crackers, and maybe a teaspoon of rice. In fact had to look for the rice. Fried fish was very small pieces. Way overpriced. With the open area to the kitchen, you can hear the staff all cutting up in the kitchen.

we had seafood gumbo, large was more than ample serving. it came with crackers , but you can purchase a large piece of homemade cornbread to go with it. It was cajun spicy with lots of shrimp and sausage in a louisiana roux. great service , very reasonable price friendly fast service and clean restrooms.

If your from Bossier City, you probably know about this place but otherwise, not so much. First, it's hard to find without someone telling you about it. Hidden in a back corner of an older shopping development fronting Barksdale Blvd. with a Kroger as the anchor tenant, signage from the road is almost non-existent. We found out from a friend who told me he always stops there when returning to Shreveport from playing golf. We finally made the trip over the bridge last year and it is now one of our weekly "go to" spots for lunch along with a lot of Barksdale folks and those locals who know good food and are willing to search it out. It is in a corner location with a drive through for call ahead pick-up. The interior is utilitarian with a counter for ordering, daily specials on the door and near the order counter, and an extensive Cajun themed menu on the wall. There's a lot to choose from so take some time to make your choices.Don't be put off by the steam table where the gumbo, etouffee, red beans, and other treats are kept for service. We have been there many times and never been disappointed. The gumbo is served in both seafood and chicken/sausage style. Both are as good as any in town if not some of the best we've had. Our preference is the chicken/sausage. A great deal is the regular lunch special with a cup of Gumbo and a half poboy sandwich. You choose from shrimp, oyster, crawfish, catfish, or other poboy options and with a drink, we're talking about 10 bucks. The bread is not true New Orleans style with the crunchy crumbly exterior and soft interior but still is a good match for their fine selection of poboys. The fried catfish is great and when you order you have a choice of a 2 or 3-piece lunch with sides. The portions are large, the fish is crispy, hot, and delicious. They always seem to give you more food than you ordered but that works great for me as I can fill up and take half back to my wife for her lunch! Of the many sides, we prefer the coleslaw which is thick and creamy with just the right sweetness. Probably not a favorite of those looking for a more tart taste with less mayo. The hushpuppies are small and have little bits of onion and maybe a little jalapeno. Try their version of dirty or Cajun rice. full of meat and goodness, they could be a meal on their own.Great burgers and onion rings but hard to pass up on the Cajun food.Did I mention they do an excellent crawfish boil and the drive through is great for that order for home or a party! There are plate lunch specials every day with sides and a number of specialty Cajun themed entrée dishes. We haven't tried the hamburger Cajun style or stuffed shrimp but friends rave about them. The overall interior is trying to go for that old, worn out look with the requisite LSU memorabilia and other Louisiana nick knacks but the place needs a little more age and clutter to get the full "dive" affect. The service is excellent and fast. The pricing is very reasonable, and here's the true standard for a place that knows how to cook and serve gumbo! There's a bottle of gumbo file powder on every table. As true connoisseurs of gumbo know, you add this ground sassafras root to your gumbo and stir just before you eat it. I'm always surprised with the number of places in town that are supposed to have great gumbo but don't offer this condiment on the table or even if you ask.

This place is really amazing. The historical decor number one. The staff is friendly and fast. Our server Brook kept coming back and making sure we were pleased and with a great smile on her face. My husband got a cup of etouffee to start. I was SO delicious and meaty and thick. I have the spice beef and pork meat pies. Oh so good. Especially with the zesty mustard sauce. We split a plate because in not a big eater. We had the shrimp and catfish plate with dirty rice. The portions were huge. What I mostly liked was how the this large shrimp was tender, tasty and with just a right amount of breading. The catfish was also impressively delicious. We washed it down with 2 ice cold Coronas. It made our evening. We were so stuffed. This will be our routine place to go when going to Shreveport.

New fusion style Cajun and Asian mix. Large menu to choose from, I am sure you will find a few favourites. I had the Cajun fried rice with shrimp, crawfish and andouille sausage. Lg portions so leftovers are possible. I tried the jambalaya egg roll not my favorite they came with a great dipping sauce. Very good service as well. They are also selling Crawfish so head over and enjoy.
