The Kornerstone Kafe is a charming, good 'ole home cooked meals restaurant. The staff is friendly and efficient and all meals are reportedly made from scratch. Wednesday is meatloaf day and for $9.49 you get a generous portion of made from scratch meatloaf with the traditional internal ingredients of onions and green peppers, along with two sides. I always opt for the fried okra and the mashed potatoes and brown gravy. The mashed potatoes are made from real potatoes as evidenced by the presence of chunks of potatoes. This meatloaf dish is one of the two best meatloaf dishes in Haywood County. All deserts are made on site and are of generous portions. It is hard to be disappointed at the Kornerstone Kafe.

I searched many breakfast spots in and around Waynesville NC. and got many mixed reviews, sometimes we can't figure out some. Decided on J Creek Cafe even though it looks like a place you wouldn't go unless you your like us and love finding the real gems. Let me tell ya this is a gem, not the speediest service but Gail's special chicken, egg, cheese and gravey on a biscuit is something you have to try. To start with if the white gravey is not good the whole meal is tanked, but her pepper gravey was perfect. This is a very local joint, with Gail cooking in her shorts, making fresh gravey and talking to the customers all at once, to the atmosphere of an old diner attached to a service station. In Waynesville stop at this one you won't be sorry..

This is a lovely small wine shop with delightful staff. They host wine dinners periodically and they are fantastic! I almost don't want to let this secret out, but can't help it. There were 13 of us meeting here for the first time. Everything from fresh made crepes, yogurt parfait, muffins, bagels and all types of flavored coffee, not to mention the homemade milk shakes, malts and and fruit smoothies. Everyone enjoyed their food and beverages. We were quickly served our orders and had plenty of time to sit and chat. There is free wi-fi, tv's and even a couch to just sit and relax with deliciousness. I will definitely be back.
