Serves Breakfast All Day & The Best Burgers in the Valley!
We had wanted to try this place for while and finally made a point to do it. We were terribly disappointed. It was a beautiful day so we sat outside. That was very nice. Our waitress at first was really on the spot and very friendly. She immediately brought water and said she would be back with our beverages. A group of four sat next to us, and the server doted on them. She got their drinks and took their food order. It was not until I said something about our drinks that she came over and then said she forgot about us. She took our food order and then said she would bring out drinks. Our food arrived before the people next to us, thankfully. Had it not, we were going to walk. She offered 1 free mimosa but not of us were drinking alcohol so we found that odd. Our bill came the same time the people next to us. In 5 minutes she was back taking their bill and never acknowledged us. After waiting 15 minutes, I walked inside to pay my bill. I was looked at many times but never acknowledged. When I said something about paying my bill I was told my server would take care of it, very rudely. I explained we had waited 15 minutes already and were ready to leave. I was told i had to wait for our server. I then told the person, that we would be leaving and if they wanted to get paid they would take the payment now. Finally, they took our payment. Just terrible experience. I have never seen such terrible service. Now the food, it was OK. All of the burgers are made well done and they would not make it any other way. My friend ordered one to try and it was dry and hard. Please, if you want good food and service, do not some here.

Chilkoot has been our familyâs mainstay for brunch after we attend church. Over the past few years, weâve enjoyed organic and delicious food from the cafe and always looked forward to a great cup of coffee. Unfortunately we have noticed some turnover in the kitchen and that has caused a variety of issues during the past year or so. The main problems have been around wait times, meal portion consistency and running out of ingredients to make Chilkootâs menu items. A good example of this came about this morning. We arrived to the cafe about 10:40, waited in line to place our order and then had to stand and wait for a table to open. Luckily a couple finished up a few minutes later and we sat down just before 11:00. There was not enough staff to clear our table so we picked up the dishes and asked for a rag to wipe our table down. We settled in and waited another 40 minutes until our food arrived. There were a couple of small mistakes (wrong ingredients in a fritada, burnt bacon, forgotten syrup for French toast.) None of these mistakes were overly concerning, but it does show that the kitchen team is understaffed and rushing through the orders. As the title suggests, our favorite little cafe has made a turn towards the worse over the past year. I know the owner takes a lot of pride in his business so I hope that things pick up soon.

With the continuation, revolution of the food industry some places are stepping it up a notch and adding a bit of presentation and twist to their offerings. This place is your âplain Janeâ type of restaurant, very old school and blasé. I wanted a side of avocado... none, jalapeños... none, Little cilantro... you get it. Very basic menu options and they donât steer off from it.Waitress was pleasant, food service was fast. The quality of food would be typical of what you would get at a Perkins or Dennyâs.
Ever since Savories Bistro closed about 8 years ago, I have been bemoaning the breakfast options in my home town. Yup, we have some decent options but the breakfast scene has been lacking somewhat until Mon Petit Cheri rolled into town.Just love this quaint downtown spot with its charming old brick interior, chalkboard menus and interesting food offerings. The pastries are heavenly but this morning my husband and I had real breakfasts with him choosing the farmerâs breakfast and me opting for the breakfast sandwich on a baguette served with a side salad. We loved it all, but especially appreciated the wonderful breads, maple chicken sausage, homemade blueberry jam and excellent coffee (mocha for my husband and a cold press for me). Next visit weâll go with the citrus ricotta pancakes, or maybe the rosemary biscuits and gravy. Kind of hard to choose, but the point is weâll be back. They serve lunch too.
I tried the ice cream and experienced a whole new level of yum! Fresh, pure, unadulterated deliciousness. Add fresh berries to continue with the natural flavors of this amazing ice cream!
