We had lunch at the hungry heart cafe this week after reading all the reviews. I was thinking hungry heart as in hearty meal. We were very disappointed, limited menu and my wife who is a picky eater ask if she could have jasmine rice and plain chicken breast which was in the kitchen but on two different plates they said nope. So she ordered French toast with ham but ask that mustard be on the side. I ordered a breakfast sandwich with minestrone soup. She got her French toast with mustard on the side but also with mustard in the sandwich they said nothing even after she brought it up. My breakfast sandwich was good but who put cabbage in minestrone soup? The coffee was good. Not a hearty meal in the filling you up sense. Donât know how they got ranked so high. Live and learn. This is a lovely cafe restaurant in the very beautiful The Rooms museum. The restaurant is encased in windows and has a fabulous view of the harbour. Service was quick and friendly. We ordered the grilled turkey sandwich with side salad, and it was very tasty. Others had the soup which was also very good. A nice place to stop for a bite while touring the museum.

This cafe was situated close to our Airbnb. It was busy with a good mixture of locals and visitors like ourselves. Service was friendly and efficient, always ready with an essential coffee refill. Food was freshly prepared with a varied brunch menu of substantial dishes. Set us up well for a days exploring in St Johnâs.

We had breakfast there on our second morning! I wanted to try all the different Newfoundland food! I ordered a Touton with syrup but I guess I really pronounced it wrong! The waitress laughed & told me how to pronounce it properly! It was very good! On our last day we went there for lunch! We had the chicken wrap special with homemade chicken soup which was a huge bowl & delicious! As we had the same waitress I told I knew how to pronounce Touton! She laughed & showed me a cap with a rhyming word! Lol. Great food!
