I had the pleasure of a birthday lunch at Kingsbrea Gardens cafe whilst staying nearby. We were all pleasantly surprised what this little restaurant has to offer. The cafe is placed in Kingsbrea Gardens overlooking the Sculpture Garden and the menu is full of fresh, seasonal and inventive dishes. The staff were knowledgeable and friendly and the food was second to none.I chose the Ramp & Gruyere Quiche with a Orange & Rosemary Creme Brûlée for dessert-both delicious! Will definitely return when visiting the area again.

Step to get in but possible to get in with a walker. Not wheelchair accessible. Basically a small town version of Subway. Menu on blackboard. A printed copy on request would help those with vision issues. Cranberry salsa was great. Chicken club was good but usually the meat is heated or the sub itself heated up or toasted. You do not pay until you are done which is unusual in a cafeteria style setting. But reasonable place for. Lunch in a town where most restaurants are a bit overpriced.

After spending a couple of delightful hours admiring the flowers and sculptures at Kingsbrae Garden, we decided to have a late lunch at the Garden Café. This turned out to be the perfect ending to our enjoyable excursion. The café is a lovely, light-filled room â or you can opt for a table on the terrace overlooking the garden. The menu offers light fare such as soups, sandwiches, salads, and quiches. I had the Parmesan and roasted cherry tomato quiche of the day with a spinach salad, and they were both delicious. My husband chose the sandwich and chowder combination and elected the croissant stuffed with chicken/avocado/bacon/tomato and the seafood chowder. The sandwich was also excellent, and the chowder (with lobster, scallops, haddock, and salmon) was some of the best weâve ever had. Oh, and you really need to try the fruit punch â it was so, so good and refreshing. My only regret is that we were too full to try any of the luscious-sounding desserts. Saint Andrews is a charming town, and the highlight of our visit was strolling through Kingsbrae Garden and dining at its beautiful Garden Café.Thank you for your kind words! We are glad that you enjoyed your visit.
This is a fabulous little gem with deck seating and tables right on the St Andrews waterfront. Umbrellas a must with the sun. A small canvas cover was added to the deck in the few days we were there. It serves alcohol with food and their food is quite good. It is a new cafe opened last fall. They are improving things daily. But it is a great place to catch a snack and have a drink. Their service is outstanding. That is what makes them a gem. They seat you; they serve you at your table; they find you a table; they do whatever they can to accommodate you and satisfy your requests. We visited twice while in St Andrews for 3 days. They are located just to the side of the main St Andrews dock which is where all of the tour activity is run from. They are just off the main street. They have a little music and their hours and menu changes on the weekend with more offerings. Their prices are good. They are worth a visit and support to make them a larger main street bistro.

Been wanting to try this restaurant for some time. We visit St-Andrews each year and this place is always packed. Weather was somewhat inclement so we were able to get one of the limited tables indoors. Staff while plentiful were young and inexperienced but made up for it by being very pleasant. I ordered the seafood chowder (served with a couple of garlic toast made from their own bread) and my wife had the whole fried clams with home cut fries and a dill tartar sauce. Both dish were delicious. They also have a patio for nicer days. Prices are reasonable. Would recommend.
