Reviews on Cafe food in Kittery, Maine, United States. Sitting at the southernmost corner of Maine, Kittery is a charming small town and one of the most historic communities in the state. First settled in 1623, Kittery features some of the oldest architecture in Maine, including the John Bray House, built back in 1662. Nearby Fort McClary has been guarding the entrance to the Piscataqua River for over 275 years, having been manned through five wars. Another nearby attraction is York's Wild Kingdom, the state's largest zoo and amusement park.

Colby's is a very small restaurant but the offerings are enormous! We ordered a Reuban Omelette and Eggs Benedict. Both were generous portions! I was really intrigued by the cinnamon swirl french toast offered on the menu so I ordered one slice. It was HUGE! The best french toast I have ever had! We thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast and can understand why there is always a wait for a table. But the wait is so worth it.

A bookstore/cafe/bar
Stopped by for a cappuccino and to check my email. This is still one of my favorite cafes in Portsmouth -- great coffee and baked goods, good selection of wine, craft beer, and small plates, and wonderful ambiance in the historic Custom House, with architectural details still intact and huge windows overlooking Pleasant and State Streets. Lots of wooden tables and chairs (even couches and armchairs), an outside patio, and a large selection of books that are a browser's dream. Great t-shirt, too! They also have live music and readings. This is TRULY a downtown gem.

This is a small restaurant but don't n discouraged if there is a line. Their Eggs Benedict is out of this world. Anything you pick on the menu is freshly made and service is great.

Step back in time in this charming little gem. You'll feel as if you've been transported to another time and place. The atmosphere envelops you. The velvet curtains, marble floors and old time music warm your heart. Adelaide completes your journey to a very happy place. We enjoyed Bob's Brooklyn Egg Creams, which are difficult to find outside of NYC.TIP: They offer a wonderful tea service complete with tea sandwiches. A perfect outing for young girls and their moms.
