Not the same since Bab sold it, which is a tired refrain many of you probably already have heard, but it's still great and probably just nostalgia talking. New ownership kept the menu mostly intact, which mean's Bab's best meal is still available -- Chad's special (home made corn beef and hash with poached eggs). I used to be able to finish this plate, no more. With the new ownership you can get breakfast served with fried rice instead of potatoes. I think this is the only real difference I see and taste. Worth a stop!

I believe this is the only place in Fairfield that serves crepes. We had been there before and today we went after a very long time. Well, will probably not go there again for at least a year. The crepes were greasier than I recollect from the past - change of cook? The serving size is generous and you can substitute fruit for potatoes - something I did not remember happening in the past. But the fruit was tasted unripe. All in all a very average place.

Used to come here regularly many years ago. Something has changed. I ordered sausage and eggs, with country potatoes and wheat toast. Sausage tasted funny, potatoes were undercooked and lacking in flavor. Eggs were just ok (over easy), and toast was the high light of my meal. I will not return. I don't care how close they are to Larry's Produce, will go out of my way to avoid this place. To bad, because it's a cute place and great location.

This little cafe is tucked away in a small restaurant district near the waterway inlet of the Sacramento River. It's a nice stroll along the waterway, look at a few docked boats on your way to breakfast. Inside the restaurant was clean, greeted promptly, served coffee and water immediately - service was very good. Food was typical. Nothing we ate was "a grand slam out of the ballpark" but it was good quality and fresh. Breakfast and lunch special provide great pricing. Breakfast (1 egg, famous toast, potatoes and meat choice for $6.95; or 2 small pancakes, 1 egg and meat choice for $6.45 plus many, many many other choices for all sizes of appetites. Lunch menu looks great, including hamburgers, 1/4 pound crab sandwich, - or fish/chips for only $9.50!Definitely worth enjoying!
Main Avent is a quaint cafe. The staff is pleasant and the patrons are nice as well. I've dined in and ordered food to go. Overall, my hubby and I are pleased as punch with Main Avent Cafte. They have an array of items. The quality of food is great and the service is friendly. I don't like luke warm food, and thankfully they don't serve it. My husband loves the chicken and waffles. However, he has also had one of the breakfast entrees. I'm a fan of the fried catfish, yams, mac and cheese and salmon croquette breakfast with grits and eggs. It's very difficult to find a place that makes salmon croquette's like my grandmother (and they're very close). We will continue to support Main Avent. Prices are competitive. There is a huge parking lot, so no sweat there. Word to the wise: if you want breakfast, arrive early do not wait until 10ish. My only wish is that they would be open on Sundays. But, I can't have everything my way.
