Reviews on Cafe food in Easter Island, Chile. Located in the South Pacific more than 2,000 miles off the Chilean coast, Easter Island’s not the easiest place to reach. (If you’re interested, the easiest access is by air from Santiago or Tahiti.) But isolation has helped preserve the 1,500-year-old mysterious congregation of volcanic rock sculptures (maoi) that’s the island’s biggest claim to fame. After exploring the unique landscape, relax on an uncrowded beach and ponder one of the most mysterious places on Earth.

Sat down at this cafe for an early dinner. Ordered a spaghetti bolognaise and pasta with a cheese sauce. Both were not edible. The so called bolognaise came with no meat but this random vegetable slop on top. The cheese pasta was so sickly and like stodge. So these two dishes and two soft drinks cost us USD$71!!!!! I nearly fainted! I don't mind paying good money for good food but we sent the meals back having hardly been touched so they knew we did not like the food. They just yelled at us basically. I would not eat here if it was the last place on the island. It is awful.
Tumu is 2 a minute walk from our small hotel and was appealing because of its casual open air appearance and patrons including children we took to be local to the neighborhood. The limited menu offered typical Easter Island fare with local beer, ceviche, salads, sandwiches and fish. Service is personal, fun, and helpful. A good place to hangout with friends after enjoying the incredible Moai sites that beckons all to this remarkable and remote place
We are so happy we found Polynesian restaurant on our first day on Easter Island! This lovely restaurant has an ocean view from every table. The fish is fresh and perfectly cooked. The portions are generous. Our waitress Sonia has been charming and helpful. We like this restaurant so much we have eaten there every day. The prices are reasonable too. So if you are looking for a wonderful restaurant check out Polynesian!
