Things to do in Alora

I recently visited the small town of Alora, situated some 40 kms north of Málaga. The next question you would like to ask is why would one like visit Alora. There is a plethora of answers: (1) you would like to explore villages in the hinterlands of Malaga; (2) you are learning history about the AndalucÃa province of Spain; (3) you wanted a quiet, nice and cheap place to stay as a starting point for visiting the surrounding famous villages/towns such as EL Chorro, Ronda and Setenil and; (4) you have friends/relatives who live or have settled there. In my case, all the four reasons above applied. During my stays, I ended at this little superb restaurant in Alora. Never gotten so closer to an owner and personnel of a restaurant the way I did here. They are very friendly, suggests what to eat and drink and, can improvise upon your request. It is like a home really. When you are in Alora, no need to make your own food â go to this restaurant, it is simply cheap and nice.
This bar tends toward quantity rather quality. I ordered avocado and prawn salad and couldn't see either for the coctail dressing. The second course came covered in mayonnaise and I couldn't make a dent in it! If you have a large appetite then this could be the place for you as long as your love of mayonnaise is equally insatiable
We've tried several of the well reviewed bars and tapas in Ãlora and I would say this is by far the best tapas we've had! Scrumptious food.
We bumped into this lovely small organic restaurant combined with an organic food shop. We had lunch for 9,50 per person. This includes an entré, a main course, desert and a drink. There was a choice out of 4 entrees. We were a party of 4 and each of us had a different one. All in our party were delighted. The crema, the sopa, the macaroni and the salad were all rated as excellent. Also the main courses were a success. Large portions. If you like desert try the âarroz con lecheâ . Delicious. If again in Malaga i will return there.,
