I.R.C. Travel Antigua

We have been using IRC travel for our yearly trips to Guatemala for more han 14 years! Service is excellent. David is always on time , drives really well and bus is in excellent condition! Last 2 visits we have had Guillermo drive us after the mission trip to Lake Atitlan Antigua and Guatemala City. He knows the area and drives very competently. He knows the best stops for lunch , ice cream and bathroom breaks and waits patiently while we stop at all the scenic look outs. We travelled as a group of 4 women and felt safe and well taken care of. I would highly recommend this company

We were so happy to find this company! Communication was excellent and we feeled calm about our private shuttle from Guatemala Airport to Antigua. After so many flights that we had this was the best choice! Thank you so much for your help! :)

2theocean

Daily Depature Antigua 8:30AM Daily Depature El Paredon 3:30PM 12$ each Way or 20$ Roundtrip if booked directly through booking2theocean.com !

David is the nicest guy + provides an excellent service. This shuttle is a better option than others out there as it leaves for El Paredon an hour earlier + returns an hour later in the same day so allows you more time at the beach if you are just doing a day trip. The bus is brand new, super clean + the ride is a lot of fun passing through really interesting pueblos along the way. On leaving Antigua, look out the back window to see panoramic views of Volcan Agua, Fuego + Acatenango!

I don’t understand why this company gets all the bad reviews. I dealt directly with Carlos at Gekko who always quickly responded/was helpful for all my questions(and I had a lot) via WhatsApp. Realize, though that this a travel company and NOT the bus company(Rooney.com is who supplies the actual bus service). So, if there is a problem with the bus it is out of the control of the travel company. I prepaid via PayPal trip from El Tunco to Leon and after three days to Granada for 3 and return to Antigua(very long 2 days). The bus drivers were prompt and helpful at border crossing and help you figure things out. Realize though, that should you get pulled over such as we did by Nicaraguan police and searched it is out of their control of bus company. All drivers were bi-lingual in Espanol/English to assist you in all border crossing. Never felt unsafe and I would use again should I ever travel back to El Salvador, Honduras and Nicaragua. Things might seem a bit “hokey”, but it is what it is. Handing your passport and paying driver USD at start seems odd, but hey we crossed border and our passport back with relative ease. (Honduras is 3 USD to enter AND exit, Nicuragua is 14 USD to enter, 4 USD to exit, El Salvador and Guatemala free as of February 2020-must pay in USD ONLY).
