Nyinkka Nyunyu Art & Culture Centre is a place to explore the land, culture, history, language and art of the Warumungu people. The centre was created to preserve Warumungu culture, to share it with our visitors, and to protect the sacred site of the Nyinkka, a spiky-tailed goanna which is a powerful Wirnkarra or ancestral being.

Battery Hill, overlooking the township of Tennant Creek is named after the original ten-head stamp battery. The 1930’s site echoes the soul and spirit of the miners. Underground Gold Mine tours are conducted regularly. Take self guided walks and meander past the historic machinery. Pay a small fee and enjoy Freedom, Fortitude and Flies; the social history museum and Minerals Museum with its superlative McLaughlin Collection. You will be surprised, they are worth every cent.

A very insightful tour of the hardships and lonelyness of this posting in the 1800's. The supplies came every six months by camel train. Vegies were grown on sight as well as meat.

Welcome back to this dam everyday we were in tennant creek, there is plenty to do. Take a loaf of bread and feed the animals, have a free bbq. There is also fresh water, showers and toilets and also some great walking trails or just have a rest on the grass

Thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the mini devils marbles and it is a very special place for the aboriginal people. Drive is on a little bit of dirt but definitely do not need 4wd as we did it in our mobile home. Lovely place for a picnic. Toilets be it long drops, are available but take your own paper just in case.
