Monroe (historically French: Poste-du-Ouachita) is the eighth-largest city in the U.S. state of Louisiana. It is the parish seat of Ouachita Parish. In the official 2010 census, Monroe had a population of 48,815. The municipal population declined by 8.1 percent over the past decade; it was 53,107 in the 2000 census. After a recheck in 2012, the Census Bureau changed the 2010 population from 48,815 to 49,147. Mayor Jamie Mayo, however, maintains that the Monroe population is more than 50,000 and indicated that he will pursue a continued challenge to the count.

Best bbq Iâve had since Memphis. Varied menu (meats) and an abundance of sides. Three dinners was a lot of food. Two dinners would have been plenty for three of us. All of it was super - I recommend it ALL!!

BBQ is MY thing and 2DB&Q was as delicious as has ever passed my lips! The meat was well-flavored whether topless or slathered. The sauce choices were perfect. And the sides...abundant and delectable! We had the twice baked potato casserole, beefy baked beans, and 4 cheese Mac & cheese. Not your average carry out BBQ line, but a dining experience fit for a date!

My wife and I dropped by on a Saturday night. We weren't expecting much, but were very much surprised---in a good way. This restaurant is fairly new, is quite clean and attractive and the wait staff is wonderful.I was fascinated by the "fried ribs" listed on the menu, so I ordered a two-meat combo dinner with fried ribs, sausage, cold slaw and baked beans and toast. My wife enjoyed the B-B-Q ribs with the same sides. We topped it off by orders of banana pudding and a slice of pie.The menu selections we tried were tasty and creative and above all else, delicious (try the baked beans for sure).I recommend this place the next time you are driving north of Monroe toward Sterlington.J. I visited today and had an interesting experience. The overall facility from the road looks ok however when entering needs some updating as well as real cleaning. The staff are extremely friendly, inviting and accommodating. The food was awesome - I got the special which was chicken and sausage with 2 sides. The sides were amazing and the meat was smoked to perfection. Great place to just eat...
