First of all, we want to THANK Erica and Justin, more toward Erica. Great service, great drinks, she's the best!! The food is also fantastic, highly recommended. We had SMBPPIC, ask Erica what it is, y'all needs to try it. As friendly as she is, she must have Christmas off. Thank you for dining with us!

OPENS APRIL 1, 2017 Pulled pork with our own BBQ sauce is our specialty, we also make many specialty steak-burger, pork and chicken sandwiches . All our pork is smoked at the Pitt with our own homemade sweet and tangy BBQ sauce. Plenty of sides to choose
Travelling up the Dragon to get to the Dragon Pit is an experience all in itself. Super curvy road...but beautiful. Even get your picture made by one of the many professional photographers sitting on the side of the road on your way. Don't speed...dangerous. Lots of law enforcement there to remind you! But once you get to the Pit itself you will enjoy good hamburgers, fries, colddrinks. There are always lots of people there from all over the world. Usually on their motorcycles. Funtowalk around and look at the bikes, talk to people...just don't touch...people are really picky about that. THere is also a great shop attached to the restaurant where you can buy all sorts of assessories, shirts, everything that you could want. Its all clean, fun and interesting. There are even cabins nearby if you are of a mind to stay. Its on the TN-NC line.

East Tennessee's best kept secret. The Shed is not only the best concert venue, it is home to some incredible food. Smoked on premises, our BBQ is one of a kind! Ribs, pork, chicken, brisket, burgers, salads and more make up our one of a kind menu. The Sh
I went with family n friends. I had a great time. It was very nice place with helpful employee's. We are definitely going back to try the food!!!
Weâve lived here in East Tennessee for almost 9 yearsâ¦and although Buddyâs bar-b-q is a well-known multi-location local restaurant chain here in East Tennessee, weâd never gotten around to eating there. I usually shy away from chain BBQ restaurants in favor of stand-alone locations that, in my mind at least, are more focused on their productâ¦Like many restaurants of its genre, Buddyâs bar-b-q is a counter service operation. You place your order after reviewing the menu on the wall and they call you when your food is ready. The dining area at the Maryville Buddyâs bar-b-q is open and bright. It was quite well maintained as well. FYI, Buddyâs bar-b-q is still a family operation with immediate family members and in-laws from the second and third generations managing the company. My wife decided to try a variety of Buddyâs offerings so she ordered the Combo with pork, chicken and ribs. ($9.99) It is served with hush puppies or on a bun and your choice of 2 sides: corn, baked beans, green beans, French fries, or coleslaw. Her medium Lemonade drink was $1.99. She asked to substitute potato salad and pickles for her sidesâ¦no problem. She liked the pulled pork and she really enjoyed the potato salad and pickles, as well as the hush puppies. The ribs were very good! The chicken was the only negative⦠It was a BBQ breast and it was quite dryâ¦overcooked. I can support that opinion as I ended up finishing it for her.All I was really interested in were the ribs. So I ordered a pound of Buddyâs pork ribs ($11.49) accompanied by a side of coleslaw. ($1.49) I thought that the coleslaw was quite blandâ¦but I did like the ribs! They were very niceâ¦cooked to the point where you still had to âwork themâ a little. We donât really like âfalling off the boneâ ribs. The seasoning was right too. Buddyâs barbecue sauces were OK but I prefer a little more âtangâ or âbiteâ in my sauce. I approximated what I prefer by mixing some hot sauce with Buddyâs spicy BBQ sauce. To summarize, while Buddyâs bar-b-q isnât the best restaurant barbecue weâve ever had, itâs better than any of the other barbecue restaurants that weâve sampled here in East Tennessee.

I have dined here multiple times and it has quickly become a favorite. For a small, "off the beaten path" location you can't beat the friendly customer service, the quality and portions of food, or the price. The owner frequently comes out to visit with customers. They give an excellent military discount. They have multiple daily specials like homemade beef stew and cornbread or slow smoked side of ribs. Friday's specials include a HUGE, HANDCUT, smoked ribeye with fried shrimp, a side, and a drink for $13! And the homemade banana pudding or pies...yum! If there is a wait, it is well worth waiting for, but they do call in and to go orders also.If you are anywhere near the Maryville, TN area and have not tried Jake's Place you are missing out. If you are traveling through to the Smokey Mountains and don't mind a little detour to avoid the run of the mill chain resturants... this is the place to go!
