This place took us a while to get to in the Hickory area. We visit Hickory for business frequently. This is a nice place to eat. It is a favorite for the locals for sure. We had lunch here on our last trip to Hickory. We ordered a sampler platter. There was a lot of good food on this shared platter. The pricing here was very good. It is one of those true value kind of places. The 50's vibe is carried on throughout the entire diner. The service was friendly and attentive. This is a good place to get a great southern Barbecue lunch. We would go here again. It was not the best barbecue but the value and experience made it a 4 star rating for us.

If you are a BBQ fan Hannah's is a must stop in Hickory. Hannah's remodeled what was originally a Hardee's, then Backyard Burgers, then the Ale house and now Hannah's South. The place looks great inside, service is great and of course Hannah's BBQ is tops! Highly recommend the chopped BBQ Original sandwich and Chopped BBQ Tray! We stopped for a late evening outing!

There are numerous barbecue places in Hickory, NC but we picked this one due to proximity and some prices from a desk clerk. We now know her palate for barbecue is not trustworthy. The ribs were ok but the pulled pork, or should I say, shredded pork was pitiful. Apparently food is prepared elsewhere and brought to this location.The collard greens and the Cole slaw were ok. Will not come back, y'all.

We were traveling on I40 close to the closing time for Dickey's. We called to see if they would be still serving when we were able to get there. The young lady who answered the phone said we could order and she would have everything ready when we arrived and she did. Everything was delicious - can't say enough about the fried okra . She was so helpful and we left very satisfied.

Found this place on TripAdvisor. Order at the counter and pay when your number is called. Lots of BBQ options and plenty of sides available. We shared a chopped pork plate with onion rings and green beans. The beans were great, but the onion rings were batter-dipped and spectacular. Pork was tasty, even with no sauce, but try the sauces...they're excellent, too.Value pricing makes this a great choice.
