Reviews on Barbecue food in Arequipa, Arequipa Region, Peru. In Peru's second-most populous city, aka "The White City," stunning colonial buildings made of pearly sillar stone vie for attention with the surrounding volcanoes and snow-capped peaks of the western Andes. Founded in 1540, it's a smorgasbord of mansions and museums. The top attraction, 215,000-square-foot Santa Catalina Monastery, is like its own city within a city, complete with fountains and cobblestone streets. Arequipa is the favorite base for visiting Colca Canyon and its massive condors.

In the mood for barbecue, we serve the best ribs and pulled pork in town. We also make our own sausage and bacon. Want something other than pork, our wings and burgers are second to none. Pair any of these with one of our carefully selected craft beers or
Where to start with this place. You can eat in a lovely courtyard or big inside benches. Really fun menu with a focus on BBQ. I got this huuuge burger (30sol and comes with excellent crispy fries) called RIP PEPPA. Essentially it was fantastic juicy beef/pork patty, topped with artisan thick smoked bacon which was crispy yet chewy (incredible) AND the most incredible pulled pork in a delicious thick bbq sauce, encased in a soft sesame bun, with several slices of cheese too, cannot describe how good it was. I am a burger junky so not novice to the scene and this was very impressive. It's so good because it's tied to an upmarket butcher, just so so good.GF got the Smoking Dutchman burger which she also liked with good onion rings on the side, we also got the bbq beans as an extra side and they were awesome!! They have craft beer, cider, cocktails, cold brew coffee, everything you could want really. You must must eat here if you come to town. The craft cranberry cider is incredible.

If you are looking for a good place to eat and enjoy the time with your friends. This is your best option! *
We arrived just after opening time, yet were warmly welcomed. Alpaca and all things meat related on the menu. Big portions, all perfectly cooked over charcoal. The food was a no nonsense meat fest with appropriate Peruvian accompaniments. The surroundings could be described as rustic but at £9/head with a couple of beers whoâs complaining! On Jerusalem, one of the main drags into Arequipa city centre - don't pass it by!Thanks for your comment we are really happy that you enjoyed our food we hope you could share our restaurant and make more people enjoy our service cheers

El Ekeko isnât a bad place to eat. The food is simple and tasty. It comes with friendly service and a clean, inviting atmosphere. It is, however, nothing special. Sort of like an Applebeeâs or generic chain destination in any city anywhere. If youâre looking for simple, convienen, and family friendly - El Ekeko is your place. Again, itâs not bad - itâs just not the kind of place that you long to go back over and over. SaludosEl Ekeko

Get away from the rubbish in the main square! Take a very pleasant 15 minute walk over the river or jump in a taxi, you will not be disappointed. We found this on TripAdvisor. All reviews are 100% accurate. Miguel's passion for his craft arrives as works of art on the table. Get in there soon and you may be lucky enough to have his undivided attention as he takes your orders, makes suggestions, prepares and presents your meal and joins you for a glass of wine afterwards. Nothing mass produced or bought in here. We went for the visually stunning and delicious trout carpaccio and beef heart skewers. Beef heart a first for me in Peru and loved it. Steaks for mains and more red wine for dessert! Miguel told us that he has help on busier evenings but we enjoyed the private dining experience! His limited English and our limited Spanish did not limit the enjoyment of a long, delicious and visually fabulous experience. Good luck to you my new friend, you have ability and passion, I look forward to seeing where you take this. For what it's worth, we ate at Zig Zag and Dimas in Arequipa, Fallen Angel and Cicciolina in Cusco. This is better! Thankyou

I ate at their local when they were located at the central plaza over two years ago, it was good then and so it was again. I ordered the 220g. "American Style Cut Lomo". I asked for it "medium well" not burnt or bloody. Cooked to Perfectuion ! It also did not have any fat on it, perfect. Meat was tender juicy and a treat. We ordered rice and two different types of french fries, all good. They had a decent list of South American wines I ordered a Chilean Cabernet which was decent. the bread they brought out for starters came straight and hot from the oven. The salad bar was frsh and extensive. Can Highly Recommend you come here if you like meat.
