We were going to Waxhaw because we heard there were great restaurants there. We looked for the best restaurants to try. Maxwells Tavern was at the top of the list. We decided to try them, and we were not disappointed. We both had the Tavern Philly with fries. The portions were enormous and extremely good. We saw other entrees going to different tables and it all looked great.Space was limited, we got the last table at 1:15. This is surely a #1 place to eat in Waxhaw.

In the shadows of the Water Tower sits Mary O'Neill's, home of a great pint, hearty cuisine, set in an atmosphere that feels like home. The reclaimed wood and red brick sets stall to a simpler time where hard work was rewarded with a cold drink, good conv
As British natives we are always looking for authentic English/Irish pubs and restaurants. After hearing good things about Mary O'Neill's we went for lunch and it did not disappoint. We had the mussels and curry with chips and both were delicious! Owner Stephen and his staff were friendly and courteous - he shook our hands and asked our names. We will definitely return!

This place is such a great addition to downtown Waxhaw. We usually stop here either before or after dinner for a glass of wine. Perfect for date night or drinks with friends. They have a very nice selection of wines that change regularly. Service is attentive without being invasive. My husband usually gets their cheese plate and he thoroughly enjoys the selection each time.

We went for dinner. Atmosphere was nice and waitress was polite. Service was good. I got the twin lobster tails which were very large and delicious. My wife got the baked spaghetti which was basically spaghetti with meat sauce with mozzarella on top. My niece got fried flounder and was very good. My son got a ribeye and it was seasoned well but slightly overcooked. We also got sautéed spinach and it was off the chain. Overall very good. It sounded like a steakhouse by the name, but isn't.

After multiple visits to this restaurant with inconsistencies in menu items and service my family is done. Emailed company regarding how menu items are different on every visit, how what is listed in the menu is not what comes to the table and servers and kitchen staff seem unsure of what they are doing and got a response nearly 6 weeks later from general manager. Visited location after receiving email and decided to speak to manager, at his request, in person rather than phone. We sat down placed our order and asked if manager was available. The manager came to our table and was oblivious about emailing me regarding our issues. Went over issues again about the menu items changing or missing ingredients on each separate visit. Also about being charged for sauce when it clearly states in menu description " with your choice of our award winning wing sauce " and being given an attitude by server when pointing this out to her. He listened to us, acknowledged what we were saying and did apologize. Yet we could tell talking to us was more of a nuisance than anything else. Fortunately our food arrived, yet again, while he was at our table missing items and he directed the waitress to correct that. After trying our food, which again was made differently, we finished our meal only to find we were billed incorrectly again. Now a different manager came over to lecture me on how the wing sauce is extra and I pointed out that the menu states a choice of sauce with the quesadilla. The same issue that we previously had and I had just explained to the general manager who is the one who should have come back. He then blamed the waitress who said it was a computer issue. We were so annoyed by both managers' attitudes we are calling it quits with this restaurant. We also ordered an item to go and found that they left the styrofoam container under the heat lamps so half the lid is melted. Not a good management staff so it is apparent the rest of the staff is lacking. Definitely would not recommend.
