My wife and I were returning to Knightdale NC from Appomattox Court House VA. For 100 miles there were no restaurants. Making a right turn we noticed this restaurant was open (Easter Sunday no less). Oh my, the food was delicious, fresh and relatively inexpensive. Our waitress, Jamie was a delight. Highly recommed this place.

This restaurant and micro-brewery is truly a one-of-a-kind in Oxford, N.C.! I have eaten dinner here on at least 3 occasions, the most recent was with 2 cousins. I treated my cousins to dinner in honor of one cousin's birthday. I ordered the brisket tacos. My cousins ordered barbecue chicken and chicken and waffles. We also ordered a "flight", which is 5 different kinds of beer/ale/stout that is made inside the micro-brewery. We also ordered brisket nachos, which had some very hot jalapeno peppers, which I like. One cousin had sweet tea and I ordered a Bullet Stopper, my favorite beer made here. Our dinner arrived within 10 minutes, which in my opinion was too fast, if that makes sense. The brisket tacos are served on 2 soft corn tortillas. When I picked up one of the tortillas, it tore in half like wet paper. My cousin, who ordered the chicken and waffles stated that the waffle was cold. For almost $60 for the 3 of us to have dinner, the quality of the food could be better. Otherwise, I would give this restaurant 5 stars. On 2 prior visits for dinner, I have eaten their pulled barbecue pork sandwich, which is very good, however, the bun that it's served on is rather small. For the price you pay, a larger bun, like a Kaiser roll would be more substantial. The French fries I had that evening were cold. The atmosphere is great as there is a bar with a large flat screen television. Outdoor seating, such as picnic tables with umbrellas are great places to dine when the weather is nice. There are also board games and card games that you and your party can play. My friends/family and I have never felt rushed to leave so someone else can have our table. The co-owners, Mr. & Mrs. Shelton are very nice, who are veterans. If Mr. Shelton knows it's your birthday, he will announce this to the entire restaurant. All the patrons are invited to sing "happy birthday", which I think is very cool. The restaurant is also very family friendly. However, if you have small children, it can get rather loud as the restaurant has very high ceilings. The noise may hurt little one's ears.

Met a friend for lunch here today...we each ordered subs...on the printed menu it stated dressings as EVOO..and red wine vinegar...I ordered a hot roast beef sub with mushrooms...Lettuce and Tomato..swiss cheese with red wine vinegar and oil...sub came no mushrooms or vinegar and oil...I asked for vinegar and oil...because there was none on the sandwich... when I asked the server who brought the sandwich he assured me it was on there...it was not... I asked the waitress and she just brought me the olive oil from the salad bar....as there was already a bottle of balsamic on the table per my friends request. I stated I wanted the red wine vinegar please...she came back and told me they didn't use that just the balsamic...so if they do not use it on their subs why is it printed out on the menu??? At that point I just gave up and didn't even mention the mushrooms...just ate my sub..My sub was okay...smallish...fries were good...checks were brought and she stood and waited for us to dig for money...cc's...I had the distinct feeling we were being rushed....she brought cards and check back for signatures and had mixed up order and charged meals to wrong cards...and then gave us the wrong cards back...We just accepted it because I frankly did not want to give her my card again to take away and bring back...so we each paid for each others meal! The restaurant was not full...not sure why we were rushed out...it's too bad Oxford needs all the restaurants it can get.... because of the service I will not return.I want to apologize that we missed the mark with you during your recent lunch. We strive to give our diners a great experience from start to finish including food and service. We never want to rush our patrons and I'm sorry you felt this from our staff. We had a staff meeting to discuss this upon seeing this review. Additionally, I have made 100% certain we have Vinegar and Oil in stock waiting for you to give us another chance. I hope you will give us an opportunity in the future so you can see this is not typical of our restaurant. Our focus has and always will be centered on providing delicious, quality food with friendly and efficient service.
