If you love to eat well, drink much, and enjoy the simple side of life with a hearty helping of down home music and are not in a rush to go ANYWHERE!
Joanie's is kind of in the middle of nowhere - we were driving between Everglades National Park and Big Cypress park and someone said, this is about the only place for lunch. It's a roadside shack with the most awesome decor, like a hollywood set for a roadside seafood shack! absolutely delicious food (grouper sandwiches, crab cakes and OMG, the key lime pie!) but the best part was our waitress! unfortunately we didn't get her name but she has a personality as big as Texas! Outgoing, loud, and so much fun. We had the best time, and the best lunch!

We are family owned and operated. We serve American cuisine dishes, seafood, steaks, pasta. We are located inside the Port of the Islands Hotel.
Let me start off with I give plenty of chances and thoughts before I write bad reviews on here. I heard three different excuses from staff - one they had a new cook and 2- the restaurant just opened recently & 3 the waitresses were taking food from the window before it was done. Either way, DONâT SERVE WHAT YOU CANâT. Prices are to HIGH to start. They appeared to be unprepared for a holiday weekend. Didnât have items in the kitchen to prepare seafood items. (Even though Wal-Mart is just 10mins down the road). Wait times for food & checks were past 30 mins. They were busy but not. (I kept reminding myself we were in the Everglades & maybe itâs just they are on island time) when an item I ordered came out that was $25 I asked about it being that much $ for that small dish, I was offered a free dessert by a rude grumpy waitress. Then the owner came by and offering to remove it from the tab. We werenât the only ones to send food back. This happened two nights in a row, so we went to Walmart and bought our own dinner. The bar..... again understaffed, long waits for not even a packed house. Gun sodaâs need the co2 configured. Food comes from the same kitchen as the restaurant and itâs not great either. When your hungry and thereâs no other options though, youâll eat it. Just give yourself more options. My advice is - limit the menu to what you can prepare. I will look into this Thank you! No excuses we were understaffed due to illness and a death in one of my employees family. We have been open for over 4 years, we do strive for perfection, again we are sorry you were not happy with us.

Came to the rod n gun and had an amazing experience!! Our waitress Jordyn was wonderful and very attentive! Would highly recommend!!
We lunched at Gatorsâ Cross Roads after the Manatee Sightseeing cruise nearby. It has good restaurant reviews, so we expected a good seafood meal. And it is good, with tasty fried fish and fries in baskets. Itâs bar food, in a pleasant bar with good beer and busy pool tables and dollar bills on the walls. Nice folks and pleasant waitress, too. Enjoy this good clean American spot as is!

Ok, we were a group of nine , but were seated without question for lunch. It was fairly busy but not full. Over 1hour later still no food.... we had only ordered wraps and pittas. We had to hold and tell our afternoon boat tour we were running late. The average wraps arrived in take out boxes in dribs and drabs, so we could leave. To be fair we did get a large discount.
