Reviews on Bar food in Lake Maggiore, Piedmont, Italy. On the south side of the Alps, Lake Maggiore is the second largest lake in Italy. Since the climate is mild year-round, the area is filled with Mediterranean vegetation and exotic plants. Lake Maggiore was featured in Ernest Hemingway's infamous novel, A Farewell to Arms, when the protagonist and his lover must row across the lake in order to escape the Italian Carabinieri (think police in military uniforms). Here's hoping you won't have any run-ins of that nature.

This is such a great place. Whilst its not on the main square, its on the way and is absolutely fantastic. Great selection of wines, superb cocktails and all at really great prices. Always a superb selection of nibbles to go with the drinks, and outstanding friendly service. We were here almost every night, for pre and post dinner drinks.

Very cute, cosy and nice place. Pkeasant interior, nice choice of Italian craft beer (especially bottled). Extremely friendly staff. Nice place to sit up to midnight. And what is nice: even for small beer they serve tapas for free (like in Spain as bar name is Spanish - donât ask why, even bartenders donât know)

The âtapasâ style menu was perfect in this restaurant. We sat outside and enjoyed watching the busy street in front of us. The food portions were just right. Very flavoursome! We had to resist not going back the following evening because we wanted to experience a range of restaurants, however this one was just lovely! We would recommend the mixed bruschetta, soup and cut meats. The veg piadine was also beautiful. We would certainly recommend!

Visited on a Sunday night in August. The restaurant wasn't very busy but we found the pace of the restaurant to be very slow. It took a long time to get seated (despite many empty tables), a long time to order food, long time to arrive etc. We had one course and a drink and were there nearly two hours. The food is good quality and affordable but not somewhere to rush to
