The waitress was attentive, but the food was just average. Nothing spectacular. The salad came with all the vegetables and lettuce separated on the plate instead of being cut up and mixed together.

I finally explored Monmouth main and the Western Oregon campus. The latter is an exquisite, old school ivy and brick, university with charm and erudition. Along the former, I discovered Crush Wine Bar. The venue is Victorian store front outside, with an airy, polished wood charm inside and a venerable, old and charming bar ruling the dining room. The wine list is varied, with several selections and the menu is light and tasty. I finished off a turkey caesar wrap with relish (and a second glass of chardonnay) and there were also sandwiches and pizza to choose from. The owner was engaging and a good source of information about the university and Monmouth main. So, take a turn off 99W and drink a bit of golden life at Crush Wine bar!

Though, on a mid-week outing at / near the beginning of the dining hour, the parking lot was pretty full...more so than I expected...speaks to its popularity. The kitchen was a little out of sync and may have had an "off-night". Our salads showed up after the entrees arrived. Tossed green salads were fresh; lettuce crispy; and refreshing since it had been a very hot day. Both of the petite tenderloins were overcooked. They were ordered med-rare and medium. They arrived as medium and well done. These two steaks were tasty enough; we were hungry; did not send back the steaks nor comment to our server. The tri-tip was ordered med-rare and arrived as ordered. However, it was chewy as in my fellow guests watched me struggle to cut it and observed the challenge as I tried to chew it. However, I did take home the leftover tri-tip to get another opinion. As a leftover the following day, it was warmed in a skillet and was well done by the time is was heated. I will say that as well done pieces of meat it was pretty good...enjoyable with still the 'chew' that tri-tip provides. You could really taste the smokey flavor. I have eaten tri-tip at other establishments; but I believe the lesson learned is that when you are in a steak restaurant there are
