Sunday is always a bit of a hit and miss in France but the Renaissance is one of the exceptions that makes the rule. Clearly as a "tourist" most do no associate Falaise with a holiday destination rather a stop over. So it is very much a surprise to find a restaurant that is fully able to accommodate all Europeans with friendliness, and good humour. Staff were very much "on the ball" when it came to service and presentation with English spoken to good level. Food was a very good standard, and menu choice comprehensive, portions were very substantial, certainly value for money, drinks were cheaper than expected. All in all our experience of this place was very very good. The Sunday we visited suggested that this restaraunt is popular. We arrive at 12.00 and by 12.30 the eating area inside was full of patrons. I have assume that weekdays and evenings will see the place packed to the rafters.Good Food, Good Service, Good Price, Dog Friendly, English understandable, FriendlyTicks all the boxes. So if your passing through this is a "no brainier."

Very popular restaurant in the heart of town on the main road, staff are very good and attentive. Good food and wine menu, as you would expect from the name it is Italian with extensive pizza and pasta options I had a Calzone (the smaller size one), washed down with a couple of draft beers, whilst my wife had a ham omelette washed down with 50cl of Rose wine, meals came with bread and frites and cost less that 30 euros in total. Worth trying if you are in the area.

Situated quite near the Chateau we were attracted to this little bistro because it was busy with locals, which is normally a good sign. Good range of pizzas and salads for lunch plus a very reasonably priced menu du jour. The chicken, Landon and avocado salad was very tasty. There are tables outside and inside and the service is quick and efficient. My only criticism was the limited choice of white wine by the glass otherwise a good place for lunch

We were looking for lunch in the main square of Falaise and came upon this bar/café. We were met by a friendly waiter who gave us a nice table inside. The menu was comprehensive but we went for omelettes and salads. All were substantial and good. Excellent for a quick light lunch.
