A warm, friendly and cozy place. A traditional cuisine which varies according to season faithful to the "Home-made" label . The terrace in the heart of the city allows a gastronomic halt. Relaxation and flavors are included. Late service.
We walked in on a Saturday without a reservation. We were offered a chance to sit on the ground floor rather than upstairs which was full. On reflection this was probably a mistake by us because we were virtually alone for the whole meal apart from one other couple having a drink waiting for a table upstairs.Nevertheless the service was good (they even helped to move our table to a warmer position away from the door) and the prices moderate. The food was fine.

This restaurant is a bit out of the town centre, but still an easy 10 minute walk over the river from the main square. (If you're driving there's a big car park outside.) Central Castres, to us at any rate, did not appear to be over-blessed with good restaurants so we were fortunate that this one was recommended to us by the proprietor of the Hotel Renaissance and we ate there two evenings out of three. Brasserie Marso is a well run bistro with welcoming, efficient staff and traditional French brasserie decor on two floors. You may need to book at busier times of the year (05 63 35 79 30).

We chose a selection of tapas rather than a "main meal" and both quality and quantity was really good. Having eaten tapas in Barcelona, San Sebastian and Andorra in the last year, the food on offer in this little bar/restaurant in Castres is at least as good. The atmosphere is really lively and fun. It is obviously very popular and the interior dining area is fairly small resulting in a crowded/cramped feeling. The outside covered terrace is a better bet if you don't mind sharing it with the smokers. The service is ok if a bit erratic-I waited 15 minutes for a beer and the carafes of water served were not chilled. The prices are very reasonable. We will definitely be back.

Went here after the Leinster game as it was the supporters hq . Super band playing and we had good fun. I'm not a mad fan of other beers when on a session so will always try to find good Guinness. I know most people will say don't drink Guinness in France but if Trevor Brennan can produce pints like mothers milk there is no reason why other pubs calling themselves Irish can't .
