We ordered two poke bowls and two ramens, sadly none of the food was up to standard. The rice of the poke bowls are raw, dry and brittle. Tried both the normal and thai rice and it was equally bad so definitely a fault on the chef but not on the raw materials. We were surprised to find out that the gyoza ramen came without any noodles. Asked for clarification and they told us it was meant to be like so?! But I thought ramen means noodles? If you do not mean to serve it with noodles you should just say its gyoza. The ramens were served in broth that was badly seasoned and feels like only an overwhelming amount of soy sauce was used. Portions are also very small.

I know this place since it was a little room with a few chairs available. So it's about 5 years I'm having fun with delicious chinese and japanese food in there :-) . Absolutely friendly owner with great experience managing a restaurant, they moved from a little room to a very wide one without loose any of their attractive previous skills: high quality and fresh japanese meals; pleasant and friendly approach to meet customer satisfaction; extremely wide chinese food choice with chance to taste marvelous mongolian style of sea food mix or meat mix ones... you'll love them while cooking on your own. as added value there's now bigger restaurant room with a relatively simple forniture supplied by a quality service. Simple and clean that's most important. Quite often you'll meet real japanese or chinese peoples having meal inside. What else can say?...: I'm going to have dinner in there :-)

Shambala

From the memory of the Far East atmosphere and colours in '98, in an old Lombardia farmstead, Shambala was born...place of peace and happiness. Shambala is a word used by Tibetan lamas to intend “Happiness Source”; they are firmly convinced of its presen

Long story short. Been several times and tried multiple menu/dishes I know a few things about the story of this unconventional asian inn located the periferical of Milan. First time I went there in Italy they still had Lira currency. It's been good times there.Let's stick with the main topic, how it feels there. They used to furnish interiors and garden with lovely /cozy tatami. That was the brand image of this place, offering common tables for whom wants to be seated and tatami for whom is looking for something different. Forget it. If looking for dining there they got just one inside e one outside, when garden is open (3 month or less in a year) so basically may count on just one. Regrettably the only external tatami is right in the noisy corner of the garden close to main road. Music surround doesn't cover the noise from the road, the remaining part of the gardern in the evenings almost shut (they use the full garden only for parties..their thriving business).Menu: good choice of different dishes with some tricky offers among the apetizers which make the final price rising above the expectations. That's Italy, where quantities below the average compete with prices of the mains. Never take mix of apetizers, it doesn't really worth the price. Apetizers in general not worthy, plain or poor quantity. Main courses: some good dishes but expensive prices. Dessert: not great choice. Wine list: not bad but you'd feel foolish to pay the same bottle of wine 5€ more than few weeks ago. Average dinner (decent) no less than 100 € + Uber/taxi to get there (50€ round trip). Add twice the price and easily get a ticket for real Thailand / Vietnam. Why going there then? I won't anymore in fact. I've been a regular over two decades anytime I was in the city wanted to spend one evening there. Not anymore. Not to mention resturant manager ain't really good in customer relationship management. She's rude basically, she ignores clients and act moody. Shambala Once Upon a Time...Dear Client, first, we are really sorry for not having satisfied your expectations. Let me try to analyze the situation in order to improve our service. There are some points in your review that are not very correct, I dare say, You have mentioned only one tatami outside, in the garden, whilst there are two outside and two inside, four in total, so Clients have more options.I would like to stress out that the WHOLE garden is always open in the evenings, providing all tables have been booked, obviously. So, it isn't open only for parties, as you affirm.Regarding your comments on dishes, could you please specify these so-called "tricky offers", what do you mean? From your review it isn't clear at all. Neither is clear your observation about Italy in general. I can not speak for the whole country, obviously, but I can assure you that in our restaurant both apetizers and main dishes do not have poor quantity, As for your comment about desserts, I dare observe that six options in the menu one wouldn't consider "not great choice", it is a standard number for restaurants, even a good one.About wine, I would like to clarify your comments, as they don't seem true at all,, The prices on wine have been always THE SAME for already TWO YEARS, that's why I presume you are wrong to affirm having paid 5 € more than few weeks ago.Sorry, but I can't understand the connection between your bill and 50€ trip on Uber... To my mind, these two things are not connected at all, and your observation doesn't have anything to do with the restaurant review.. Nevertheless, I still would like to precise that Shambala is a 15-minute drive from the centre of Milan, Duomo cathedral, Regarding the price you gave as for an average dinner (100€), I would like to observe that an average dinner at our restaurant is about 50€ without wine. The last thing I would like to mention is your comment about the restaurant manager, who is always extremely gentile with Clients, and does her best to meet all their needs. Of course, I will take your observation into account to improve the services provided. All in all, I would like to repeat that we are really sorry you haven't enjoyed your evening, but I would also appreciate more precise and more clear comments from your side to help us do better our job!Sergio

From start to finish, this was a beautiful place for lunch. The wait staff were kind and friendly with menus written and visual from a tablet. Of course having Japanese lunch, you need a Japanese beer to complete the meal. Very happy to have lunch there, and see my favorite Italian MasterChef host Bruno Barbieri having lunch there also. What a nice surprise .Beautiful surroundings.

Addio.
