We had tried to get into this restaurant last year when we visited Benalmadena but were unable to so this year we went in and booked a table! The meal, service and staff were wonderful. We could not fault a thing so we booked again to return on another evening and once again received the same fantastic experience. If you are in the area you have to go - you won't be disappointed.

So we booked and went to Ponchoâs to try their acclaimed steak. I had a prawn and avocado started which turkey was 10/10 for me! The avocado was beautifully ripe and extremely flavoursome, as were the generous amount of prawns, my partner had the prawn cocktail which was very similar but obviously did t have the avocado and the prawns were in an apple cocktail salad type thing- also very nice but I would recommend the prawn and avocado over the prawn cocktail. The service we received was excellent as we were seated and served straight away and recommended a lovely wine to go with our meal. The steak is where we both had mixed reviews... the cut and the way the steak was cooked was beautiful however, the steak hasnât seemed to have been seasoned very much at all before cooking, itâs seemed a shame in a way to have such a fantastic slab of meat then to not season it with something as simple as a bit of salt and pepper. Itâs also worth noting that the 250g steak is more than big enough for the average person, I ordered the 350g sirloin and it was enormous! The fries were great and we ordered a side of fried mushroom and onion which was also very nice. The bit I really didnât like was the béarnaise sauce and stupidly I poured it over my steak before tasting it! It had far too much tarragon in it and was so overpowering that I really didnât enjoy it at all and I usually LOVE béarnaise. We then ordered a blue cheese sauce to replace the béarnaise and that wasnât very good either. To finish the meal off we shared the caramel pancake and it was simply gorgeous! Overall...Service 10/10Food 7/10Atmosphere 6/10Value 7/10

Lovely little place. Fabulous steak and really amazing cod dish. The staff were so lovely. We had a lovely Temperanillo wine recommended by our server. The garlic chilli prawns were so good mopped up with the wonderful warm bread. Have the apple pancake for dessert...itâs heavenly!!!!
