McCormick Field

McCormick Field opened its gates for the first time in 1924 when the Asheville Tourists played host to the Detroit Tigers. Over the years the stadium has encountered numerous renovations, most recently a seating bowl makeover in 2015, that has ensured the stadium remains up with the times while keeping its lustrous history and throwback feel. With a capacity of just over 4,000, the dynamic during a game is intimate and scenic. It is a hitter friendly Minor League ballpark thanks to a short porch in right field and a 42-foot high wall in right-center. McCormick Field is still inhabited by the Asheville Tourists, the Single A Affiliate of the Colorado Rockies.

McCormick Field is so cozy, you will feel like you are part of the game. Every seat is close to the field. Entertainment between each inning makes it fun for everyone. Bring the family!

Tryon International Equestrian Center

This is a terrific experience. Plenty of places to sit and watch the competition. Check the activity schedule to make sure there are competions on the day you want to go. Watch a little on utube so you know what’s going on and how the horses are scored. During certain times they have a function called Saturday night lights. Bring your family for a fantastic free evening with all kinds of things for kids to do and it is free and then settle back and watch the horses compete for big bucks. Yes they have restaurants and yes they are good. You can go on none competition days to just walk around, have a meal and enjoy the beautiful backdrop. Sept 12-24 will host the WORLD COMPETION so unless you buy tickets to the event do not go during that time frame. Love this place!!!!!

Great opportunity to boat here as the Home building and Remodeling Expo offered a wide selection of materials needed to build or remodel. We saw everything from bathroom changes to pole building to metal & shingles. Great !!!!!
