The Skillet

Reviewed By Patti H

We did have to wait as we were a large party and every table was taken in a Sunday morning. There was a constant stream of new customers which creates a good atmosphere. We were there for breakfast and everyone enjoyed what they ordered. Hash browns were good and eggs were cooked correctly. The waitress was well trained as she remembered the drink order without writing it down plus she checked back several times.

My boyfriend and I happened to be in the Snowflake area on a weekday, so we decided to try Celebrations of Generations for lunch. The interior has an old-fashioned soda fountain and a plain, but inviting dining area. We had read about slow service at this establishment in some of the other reviews, so we did not have high expectations going in. We were pleasantly surprised by our server, who made sure to greet everyone as soon as they walked into the restaurant. She was very friendly and outgoing and made us feel welcome. The service we received was excellent.I was excited to try the free scones that came with the meal, and they did not disappoint. My scone was chocolate chip and my boyfriend's was mint chocolate chip. For my lunch, I ordered the veggie sandwich with the sweet potato fries. My boyfriend had the meat lovers veggie wrap with sweet potato fries and passion fruit iced tea. Everything was excellent. The portions were quite large and the fries were fresh and delicious. I would like to go back and try one of the soups next time.Celebrations is in the process of adding a sweet shoppe to the front of the restaurant. They have taken down the boutique and are in transition at the moment. Their baked goods for sale looked terrific. I may try a cupcake or cookie next time as well. We will definitely be back!

I like organic restaurants and shops. Ordered a veggie and rice dish. Portion was adequate for a small to average appetite. Dish was tasty. Hostess was friendly and hospitable. After viewing the shop I ate rather quickly for the simple reason that the flies. I constantly was waving and trying to keep them from lighting on my food and drink. That was annoying and unsanitary. I will not return. Sad because it could have been a relaxing visit.

Trapper's Cafe

What a find! We passed Trappers going through town as we saw no cars around at meal time not realizing the parking was a few feet away at the side of the restaurant. And, the lot was almost full. The Rodeway Inn steered us back to Trappers and we were really glad. The chicken fried steak was huge and very good. The tender grilled chicken breast was one of the most flavorful I've had and was good plain. Their homemade brown gravy was better than most. The homemade apricot pie was good too, a little sweeter than I like, but with lots of filling. The only downside was the bottom crust was soggy, but I don't usually eat it anyway. Service was good and prompt even though the restaurant was full.

... as others have commented. It seemed to me they might be trying to run a little short-handed, always a tendency at lower-volume fast-food franchises. I didn't particularly care for the bacon, bourbon sauce brisket sandwich. The bacon had evidently been soaked in sugar water at some stage of its production. WAY too sweet for my taste.
