Only open Thursday-Saturday, this place is a reason to go to Richmond. I think the brisket is my favorite. Outside the meats, you could go here to get the unique fried portabella mushrooms, the basket of homemade potato chips, or the even better homemade sweet potato chips. Really good stuff.

We've now enjoyed breakfast, lunch & dinner at this family-run diner 45 miles noetheast of Kansas City. Homemade bicuits & gravy were excellent yesterday as were the pancakes. Bacon was perfectly crisp. The coffee cup was filled regularly too, which I really appreciate! On earlier visits, my husband & I have enjoyed the fried chicken, breaded tenderloin sandwich, roast beef & mashed potatos & more. Haven't tried their pies, cakes or cobblers but folks say they are homemade & wonderful. The staff is very friendly & you can tell the owners are well known & liked in town! Prices are reasonable & portions are generous. A short scenic drive along the Missouri River from the Ameristar Casino!

Please, please, please visit here. The food is delicious and the service is impeccable. We were greeted warmly at the door and seated immediately. We opted for the four course fixed menu. Cheese plate was good and salad was decent. Every time we finished a course, our plates were removed immediately and we were served the next course. We didn't feel rushed, they were just that attentive. Entree was delicious. I had the seafood medley with whitefish, lobster and crab cake (wow) and my husband had the stuffed whitefish. Both were excellent with ample portions. Dessert was a small fruit shortcake with fresh (from the owner's garden) strawberries. The chef came twice to our table to ask about our meal. Very genuine person, interested in providing a great experience. This is a very small restaurant. Only 25-30 seats, so you will need a reservation. Open air kitchen so you can watch the chef prepare everything. Small stat, but intimately attentive and friendly. I truly enjoyed this experience and will recommend to everyone. It makes us so happy to know that you enjoyed your experience with us! Truly, it does. We look forward to seeing you again!!

Stopping for fuel in Greenville, MO (population of 500), I asked the clerk for a restaurant recommendation and she suggested Kinfolks. What a great place! It is your typical small town, "hole in the wall" but it offers good old Southern cooking comfort food. They have a menu but I would suggest by-passing the menu and going straight to the buffet.
