We've stopped here several times for breakfast and been very happy, but it's been a couple of years.It appears to have been renovated and is very interestingly decorated with posters and local history photos.The menu is much more varied than before.We stopped to kill some time before a meeting and ordered donut holes and biscuits and sausage gravy.The donut holes were excellent. Tender, tasty, and just enough cinnamon and sugar.The biscuits were large and tasty. Many places have hard dry biscuits, these were soft, moist, and very good.The sausage gravy was a different matter. It was tasteless white paste with a few pieces of sausage in it. Every good cook makes sausage gravy by cooking the sausage first and then making the gravy with it. This wasn't.If I were to base my rating on the gravy it would be zero with a comment to avoid this place.We take great pride in our Biscuits & Gravy for good reason. It is one of our most popular dishes and has been raved about by our customers for years. Your review makes me sad for one simple reason. It means it was not brought to the kitchen's attention and we were unable to correct the problem immediately for you. Instead, you walked away with a negative impression of something that you should not have. For that I apologize! You might like to know we do in fact make the gravy in the way you said, but if it is not stirred thoroughly what you can get is nothing more than paste and a few pieces of sausage like you described. That is not right and understandable that you would be disappointed. I would be too! I hope you will visit us again sometime soon and give us and our Biscuits & Gravy another shot. This restaurant was recommended to us by the owner of the hotel we stayed at while visiting Necedah. We were pleasantly surprised by the good quality of their burgers and the very low prices given the good food. There is also a bar that is part of the restaurant and it appeared to be popular on a Friday night. I enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant, a local restaurant, rather than a nationwide chain.I had the burger with sauteed mushrooms with side order of coleslaw and fries and everything was pretty good. The menu inlcudes a variety of appetizers, steaks, chiccken and fried fish.My only complaint is that they did not have any desserts. I would return to this restaurant if visiting Necedah again.

We decided to try The Reel, one Friday night. Friday night is also know as their Friday Fish Fry. My husband and I both had fish entrees but not the fish fry. He had the breaded fish which he said was good and the breading was nice and lite. I had the broiled which I thought was delicious. We both had a baked potato and a trip to the salad bar. The salad bar was small, but I felt it had enough variety to make a nice salad. They also offered soup as well. We walked out of there with a reasonable bill for a great dinner. Would go back again.

Visited the Island View Pub & Grille for some drinks while on a local fundraiser poker run. The bartender was very friendly and is a teacher at a nearby school. The place looks very well done with the new remodeling and will try the food next time I visit.

We were here on a Friday night for drinks. The bar was busy, but not that busy. The bartenders were huddled in a circle talking, and not really serving drinks. We were in the area for the weekend, and had actually planned on coming back for their Luau Saturday night, but found somewhere else to go since they made us feel so unwelcome.We are very appreciative that you took the time to leave us a review, Miss_gypsy_garmin! We will most definitely bring your concerns to the attention of our staff. We love to please, and we are sorry the service was not up to par as you expected.
