For more than 65 years Denny's has been bringing people together over great food. It's the place where people can relax and be themselves; where they can enjoy classic American comfort food and everyday value. 24 hours a day. 365 days a year. Here, you ca
Wife had grand slam. It was tasty. The toast is how she rates a breakfast. She likes it toasted dark. I told Tony and the toast was done just right. I had grand slammy - it tasted very good. Tony - who took our order - was very attentive. The waitress who delivered the food - I asked for mayo for my sandwich - said certainly - then went on to take orders and deliver drinks. I was half way thru my sandwich when Tony came by to offer coffee fill ups. I asked for mayo and he immediately brought some. Tony was great - the waitress - not so much.
First off, THIS IS A CASH ONLY ESTABLISHMENT. That being said it is a hot dog STAND, although you can eat inside if you want to. It is small. Kinda tight. You fit maybe four people at the bar. They do serve beer. Other than that, seating is limited to tiny tables along the wall that would fit two people on stools. We are a portly couple but we managed to fit. Everybody in this place seemed to know each other. My wife and I walked in as strangers from out of town. The people in this place were very friendly and helpful nevertheless. It was Wednesday afternoon the day before Thanksgiving. There was one young lady doing all the work. Took our orders, cooked the food, tended the bar, everything. We each got two hot dogs and split a french fried taters. (Not fries, fried taters that you eat with a fork. They were very good.) I got a Martie dog and a New York kraut dog. My wife got a Naked dog and a Chili dog. Nothing fancy - just hot dogs but they were great. Along with two cans of soda, this portly couple managed to eat lunch for $13.00! We handed the lady a 20, told her to keep the change (which brought a surprised look on her face), and walked chuckling and giddy about the experience. And that's what it was - not just lunch - an experience.
